What clothes would suit me?

I'm 5ft 1 and 9 stone 8. But dumpy. Big ish boobs. I wear a lot of dresses and leggings but not sure they always suit me. Feel in a frump at the moment and don't know where to start. Would like more separated, maybe smart jeans, jewellery, perhaps some heels aa I'm so short! I need a makeover!

I agree with agatha if you can get the dress shortened it would be perfect, at that length it swamps you a bit, but the style is very flattering.

Today's dress. It's knit and plain black. Needs accessories really but I have no idea what!

A belt? A nice chunky necklace? Colourfull shoes/boots? A bright lipstick always works for me though! Grin

I think this dress is a bit too long too. Maybe a belt to nip it in at your waist?

Yes I think you could go tighter and shorter, I think you're slimmer than you think you are! A tight black dress doesn't need much apart from good shoes and makeup/hair and maybe nail varnish.
Btw I saw a lot of lovely navy satiny blouses in H&M which I'll search for and link to later.

The first dress is all the wrong shape, the others much better. The colour wouldn't suit many people either!

Maybe think about the sleeve length a bit more carefully, either longer or shorter. The first one has sleeves which end at your boobs, which draws attention to your widest part (and that the dress doesn't fit so well). The other two are much a much better line. The high neck on the first one also makes for a vaste expanse of boob with nothing to break it up. A v-neck will look better. You have a good waist, so something that highlights it would also be good

How about something like these?
John Lewis dress 1
John Lewis dress 2
John Lewis dress 3

This top could be good too, like the model have it tucked in tom2.hm.com/m/en_gb/productpage.0420029011.html#Dark%20grey tapered trousers that have a defined waist.

Watching this with interest as I'm the very same measurements as you op! My advice is always wear lower tops as it breaks up the boobs and make sure your waist is nipped in - it will give you a more hourglass flattering figure. Pepperberry clothes are great for gals like us.

My best jeans are M&S high waisted but they're so individual you need to try a load on.

I definitely think you should try much more fitted clothes, to show off your figure.

My tip is shop in the petites section it is for 5ft 4in and shorter. A surprising amount of shops do petites, everything will fit you so much better. Especially for anything 'long' like dresses or skirts or jackets and coats.

I don't think you should be wearing any dress below your knee, unless you are specifically looking for a midi or ankle length look.

You looked a lot slimmer in the last picture, definitely go more fitted. You have nice slim ankles too.

You really need to find a good seamstress and get all of your dresses shortened, I bet once that was done yours look at least a stone lighter, a few inches above the knee should do it!

Do you ever shop in the petite ranges as they'd be proportionately correct for you? The waist would be on your waist etc...
