Keep seeing it in fb and instagram

Has anyone actually tried it who wasn't paid to does it work & is it as painful as it looks to get off?

I have been using glycolic acid toner and its cleared up my nose without any pain.
I do this along with a good skincare routine:
cleanse with a good balm cleanser ( double cleanse if i'm wearing full make up)
use pixi glow tonic or Alpha-H liquid gold ( only use 1-2 times a week )
moisturise
my skin had improved massively since I started doing this.

I might try the mask as a one off, I love face masks Grin

tiger pretty much all 96 year old women have beards, and no hair elsewhere. My mum has had electrolysis in her sixties for this reason, if there's no-one to pluck your hairs every few days when you are old or in a home, you will be the bearded lady. It's not to do with shaving!

Sherlock35 · 06/03/2017 10:08

My nose is covered in blackheads and I would LOVE to get rid of them. If this mask is too harsh, does anyone have any other recommendations?

Oldraver · 06/03/2017 10:18

Bloody...Is it painful ? Grin

this woman is brilliant!

GatoradeMeBitch · 06/03/2017 10:39

If it hurts to pull it off, I'd worry that it could damage the capillaries in your skin and end up making it look worse.

Evereve · 06/03/2017 10:40

Beware. If it's the black charcoal strips they leave behind some black deposits in the pores that you didn't have in the first place. I didn't buy them again after that and went back to the ordinary strips

TobleroneBoo · 06/03/2017 10:58

Ive used it. There are many different brands and I bought mine from wish. I dont think you are supposed to use it over your whole face. It doesnt really hurt on your nose but if you spread further ( around by your mouth / under nose) then it is a little painful!

DP & I do it probably every three weeks. He has a grubby job so his results are far better. Mine are still pretty good & I find that giving a squeeze after helps.

The best thing to do is to shine an iphone light across it, shows everything!!

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 06/03/2017 11:00

Tried it once, then straight in the bin. Nothing came out and it left little bits of black in every pore. Angry

Evereve · 06/03/2017 11:06

Same as me, Vanellope! Wasn't impressed.

FairfaxAikman · 06/03/2017 11:11

I prefer the Tony Moly nose strips.
It's a three stage process but was less damaging to my skin. (And less painful)

morningconstitutional2017 · 06/03/2017 11:27

If it hurts to use it's probably too vicious and damaging for your skin. I've used the pore strips in the past and was pleased with the results. The main difficulty is expecting too much from them and wanting/needing the pores to close up afterwards.

Take some comfort from the fact that skin like this tends to be less dry and should mean that you age better with fewer wrinkles. Yes, like a fine wine you will improve with age Smile.

SeeMyVest · 06/03/2017 13:06

Thanks to this thread I've just dug mine out of the cupboard and am sat here with it on my face waiting for it to dry Grin. It does take ages... !

Kennington · 06/03/2017 15:09

If you want thread veins broken all over your face then use one. This is what happened to me so I had to have laser!!!!

Hollycatberry · 06/03/2017 16:25

There's some warnings against using these masks in this article from the Metro, given they effectively strip the outer layer of skin off if they are too strong. (sorry if the link doesn't work).

bananafish81 · 06/03/2017 22:42

They're not blackheads, they're sebaceous filaments

These masks and pore strips won't just not address the problem, but they can actually enlarge pores even more

Wow! Never had so many replies to one of my posts before! Thank you everyone - lots of food for thought and links to check out.

I've started to use the Alpha Gold sample from my m&s calendar so will see how that goes first.

I use this clay mask, it seems to get the oil out of my pores well. That new mask sounds too abrasive.

That black face mask that pulls out all blackheads....
Gallavich · 07/03/2017 07:02

Waxing all the tiny hairs off your face doesn't seem like a good idea. It probably makes your skin feel soft because it's exfoliating all the dead skin off but there are better ways to do that.

JeNeSuisPasVotreMiel · 07/03/2017 07:11

Those masks are basically PVA glue with charcoal powder mixed in - there's loads of diy videos on YouTube showing you how to make your own.

I like the idea of getting the gunk out but I don't want to lose the tiny hairs from my face.

DaphneDeLaFontaine · 07/03/2017 07:13

I like mine, it sets like black rubber.

It does cause broken veins though.
