Not Your Daughter's Jeans: worth the price?

I was actually quite shocked at the price of these! What is it about them that's so marvellous?

I mean, £100 for a pair of jeans!Shock.

Any experience of them, good or bad?

I just do not get the reasoning behind the brand name of these. Way to make them sound like total frumpsville. Confused

And why would you buy NYDJs for £100, when you could buy any other fantastic (not ridiculously-named) brand for the same, if not better, price...?

CallarMorvern · 28/02/2017 07:39

I don't find Sainsburys jeans lose their elasticity? But I don't tumble dry which might make a difference.

absolutelynotfabulous · 28/02/2017 07:44

I don't mind if they lose their elasticity. I just hoick up with a belt.

Been looking at Nydj online. Is it me, or are they slim, not skinny?

Nicer jeans IMO are Paige and 7 For all Mankind. Both US brands, both wear incredibly well and don't sag or bag.

They are ££ though.

TricksyLiesmith · 28/02/2017 10:37

These are the worst jeans I've ever had . They seemed to just expand and get baggier and baggier i think due to the high Lycra content .
What is good about them though is the higher waist band which is more flattering

They lose elasticity if you tumble dry them. Just like any Lycra or elasticated garment. NYDJ have a shape and a sewn in panel which deffo flattens tum and hoiks bum. I wash at 30, and line dry.

tiktok · 28/02/2017 16:24

They do slim and skinny, absolutely.

polyhymnia · 01/03/2017 12:56

Yes, if you look on their own site, not, eg, John Lewis, you can see they do a wide range of skinny, super skinny, and what they call jeggings, as well as straight styles.

MrsPeelyWaly · 01/03/2017 13:02

I wear them in a plus size and like them a lot. Im not concerned in the least if others think Im wasting my money or my money would be better spent elsewhere. Its my money and I owe absolutely no one an explanations as to how I spend it and why.

bojorojo · 01/03/2017 15:49

They do make loads. I never ever tumble dry any jeans! Guaranteed to spoil the Lycra. Gap or M and S are good cheaper alternatives. I think if you live in jeans buying ones you love is fine. I tend to prefer well cut trousers these days.

My favourite jeans well worth the £££s. First pair lasted 4 years. £40 a year for jeans is a good pay back
