how many pairs of footwear do you have & does your wardrobe work for you ?

Regarding the footwear, do you just wear the same few pairs ? Or get decent wear out of them all ? Do you have good stuff in your wardrobe that you can always rely on ? Or is it just a jumble of items that don't really work with each other ? Thanks ! Am in a moment of 'I have no clothes'

I have a pair of boots, a pair of flats, a pair of trainers and two pairs of fit flops.

They're all years old.

Help me with shoes. Nice ordinary every day pairs for spring.

MrRiddle0 · 25/02/2017 03:34

4 and I would happily drop it to 3 if it wasn't part of a uniform.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 25/02/2017 05:29

Far too many, but I love shoes because they always fit even when my weight fluctuates.

I have:
3 pairs black court heels
2 pairs coloured heels
3 pairs heeled sandals
3 trainers
3 flip flops
Loafers and brogues
Dressy flats - red, leopard print, olive green
Snakeskin and black heeled ankle boots
Black and grey knee high boots
Biker boots, wellies, snow boots

Clothes wise, I envy capsule wardrobe women but I'm definitely not one of them.

Converse in white, purple, leopard print, blue, black, tan leather and red.
Birkenstocks in blue, white, red and brown.
Adidas Stan Smiths in ivory snakeskin, black with leopard trim and classic white.
Pewter Supergas.
Uggs - Black Kensingtons, Stout Wilcox and chocolate classic short.
Two pairs Clarks flat strappy sandals in black and white.
Ash biker boots - black with silver studs.
Ash trainers in putty leather.
Clarks navy otk boots.
Fly knee boots in brown and black.
Clarks Hamble Oaks in tan.
Clarks burundy brogues.
Repetto heels in black (only heels I find comfy).
M&S heeled shoe boots in navy suede (not too crippling).
Ilse Jacobson flip flops in aqua.
Beige suede pirate boots.
Various ballet flats in varying stages of knackeredness.
Tan Hush Puppy penny loafers.
Cherry red patent leather DMs.
Black patent leather DM shoes.
Clarks Chelsea boots in black and burgundy.

That's all I can remember. I think I have a problem Blush

I couldn't tell you for sure but over a 100.Blush
Shoes are my thing especially over the last couple of years as I'm two stone heavier (I'm working on it!) than I was before dc4 was born so I'm not loving what I look like in clothes so instead I've bought lots of shoes and boots.

I spent last year doing a wardrobe cleanse. I now only own things I like, that fit me NOW, that I think suit me and that are in good condition. I can get dressed and feel confident about it in about 4 min. I suggest you start with that task and then review what you need.

Gah81 · 25/02/2017 14:20

I am very glad you asked that, CountFosco because now I get to share with you these: www.lakeland.co.uk/22981/Extending-%26-Stackable-Steel-10-Pair-Shoe-Rack---Wood-Effect I have four of them (they were doing 2 for 1 a while ago) and 2 of these are in the bottom of my wardrobe, 2 are in the hall - I swap summer/winter shoes with the season and then the rest of my shoes are beautifully chucked on top of the others in the wardrobe...

RebelandaStunner · 25/02/2017 16:07

My two wardrobes were sorted a while back so it occasionally needs a weed out rather than a massive cull. Usually I only chuck things that are worn, stained or no longer work.
One contains jackets and the other clothes. Jeans, knitwear, and under tops/basics go in drawers.
I only buy lovely things that get worn to death. I'd rather buy half a dozen carefully selected clothes each season plus a few basics than a ton of stuff. A bit like the French wardrobe idea.

Ankle boots all have heels:
Khaki
Grey
Black biker
Black suede

Black tall Uggs
Tan knee length

3 heeled sandals
2 flip flops
1 pair black brogues- only worn for work
1 pair of summer wedges

Walking boots
Riding boots
Wellies
Gym trainers

I have a work uniform which I pretty much stick to October-April-ish. Midi dress, black tights, black suede ankle boots. Very easy, can just grab and go in the morning. I have 4 pairs of black ankle boots in slightly different styles - Chelsea boot, more pointed, mid eel and high heel - and I rotate them and replace when they get worn.

For casual, I have a gazillion pairs of skinny jeans and tops and casual ankle boots that i throw together in some combination.

My weakness is 'going out' clothes. Which is ridiculous, as I am pushing 40 and a full time working mum, so 'going out' happens very rarey. But I have 30 odd pairs of nice shoes and sexy boots Wink, and LOTS of dressy dresses...and I rarely wear them, to be honest.Maybe 4-5 times a year. Ouch.
