I've just started with Nip + Fab glycolic pads and have so far been putting sun cream on after (well this actually as sun cream makes me break out) but it leaves my make up a bit shiny.

Any recommendations? I use serum too so something light that won't mean my make up slides off at work.

Spf after moisturiser Rainbow. The key is finding one you actually like and will use and that depends on skin type. UVA rays are present all year round and cause skin ageing. Most moisturisers and bb creams, foundations etc with spf are not broad spectrum i.e. UVA and UVB. We are lulled into a false sense of security that we are protecting our skin when in fact we aren't. I use moisturiser (no spf) and do something else for 10 mins like dry my hair then put spf on. Probably 10 mins after that after some more faffing around in the morning, makeup on.

Thank you JDSTER - great to know - looking into which one to try now

I like Arc skin protector SpF 30 primer it makes a nice base for make up and seems to do the job .

Update

I was in boots at the weekend and picked up the La Roche-Posay SPF 50
My skin looks really nice, but I don't think I'd be able to use serum with it...should I put it on before the serum? It says ultra light but it's still sitting on my skin 2 hours later.

Also, how much do I use?! I can't find any usage instructions anywhere.

I meant to post the Ultra Light Fluid as that's what I picked up Smile

Serum first and leave to absorb then the SPF??

not sure about the guideline but I find this stuff goes a long way so maybe use a few drops at a time and build it up until you're happy with how it feels

pat. The lrp dry touch anti shine one might be better for u, u do have to apply a little at a time as it takes a little working in to the skin and dries pretty quick but if u just squeeze a little on to fingers and apply to ur skin in sections until it's all over it's actually quite nice and works well ontop of a serum

OttersPocket · 27/02/2017 15:32

Erm, daft question, but do any of these high SPFs also work as a moisturiser? I have quite dry skin but hate putting layers of product on so if one product could moisturise and be my SPF that would be great.

I have just bought Bare Minerals primer in a lotion which is spf 50. (£26) I think at a pinch you could use it straight on your skin with no moisturiser. My skin isn't oily but I've not noticed my foundation staying out any longer today by using this primer on top of moisturiser.

PatMullins · 27/02/2017 18:18

Chish that's what I did Blush perhaps tomorrow I will leave the serum and see how I go with it, might just need some time to adjust Smile

Otters for a light fluid it is surprisingly moisturising. I have combination/dry skin and my skin is still really smooth Smile granted I have serum on underneath but I think it's helped.
