Sensitive skin care

I am looking for some advice on skincare. I am quite run down at the moment and it has made my skin a bit sensitive especially around my eyes where I have started to get mild eczema. Can I ask what others use who have sensitive skin - suggestions for face wash and moisturisers would be much appreciated. I was using the ordinary serums and MV organic oxygen moisturiser but I think I need to change. Thanks in advance!

I get eczema around my eyes and eye lids and find the La Roche Posay Toleriane range especially the moisturiser and eye cream work really well. I use Bioderma Sensibio micellar water (the pink lid one) to remove eye make up and Clinique Take the Day off balm to cleanse.

Thanks cakes. I will have a look at those

I've ended up sticking with clinique. Currently take the day off lotion, which i rinse off with water and the plain ordinary yellow moisturiser.

I've tried the lush Ultrabland and lt left my face feeling lovely, but was like rinsing off lard. In fac, I think a 70p pack of lard might achieve the same thing.

I use Liz Earle cleaner, toner and moisturiser. I also use Avene balm, I use it as a night cream, I also use their eye make up remover. They have great products for eczema prone skin. I have also found that using a good oil a couple of times a week really helpful. At the moment I am using an Espa one which is lovely.

I have extremely sensitive skin with rosacea. I use Clinique mild bar soap as my cleanser and Estée Lauder verite moisturiser, it's brilliant and calms my skin on contact. Although it's £45 a pot it lasts months. I find with my skin, the less I do the better.

I think it depends on whether you can work out what triggers the reaction. I never have so I just use as few products and as few ingredients as possible. I've found that if I moisturise and cleanse with almond oil or wheatgerm oil, I can then get away with sunscreen (Ultrasun Face works for me) and a bit of foundation. But everyone seems to be different.

I use Cetaphil cleanser removed with cotton wool and Cetaphil hydrating lotion for moisturising when my skin becomes too sensitive to products. I know some people don't like it but it works for me. Once my skin calms down, I start adding other products.

Products from the Skin shop are always good for the sensitive skin around my eyes

Agree with Floisme - have you tried any new products lately? Also things like nickel in eyelash curlers and even nail polish can cause dermatitis around the eyes!

Thank you for the ideas. I haven't tried anything new and I am a bit lost about what is causing it to be honest

I also get eczema around my eyes and I generally find Clinique is OK, or Simple. I'm a bit less affected by face washes and can also use a Sanctuary one (I use a foaming wash).

For moisturiser I now use a Eucerin cream - it's actually a body lotion because it was available in a large size when I was in the US for work. But I've found that the moisturisers available here are good too, if about 5x the price and in tiny bottles.

I got a Clinique 3 step set for Christmas and the middle step (not called a toner but you know what I mean) is OK too but I don't use it round my eyes.

I've also used Clinique All About Eyes before (the Rich I think) and it's been OK but I forgot about it and it went yukky. And a Simple eye cream.
