I'm just looking for some recommendations. I used to use the Eve Lom one and recently got a sample which reminded how good it is. But I remembering it being very expensive so wondered if there are any alternatives....

Emma Hardie feels and smells amazing but bought me out in loads of spots.
I use Superdrug naturally radiant which is cheap as chips and skin has never felt better. So soft I keep stroking my own face 😂

Cakescakescakes · 19/02/2017 00:22

The Emma Hardin balm smells so amazing.

LittleWonderYou · 19/02/2017 00:25

Soap and Glory Ultimelt. Smells wonderful and feels nice on. Have flirted with Argan oil, Una Brennan and miss the now discontinued Nip and Fab Cleansing balm which I loved but Ultimelt could be a new favourite.

daffodil10 · 19/02/2017 00:34

Try elemis pro colagen balm. Amazing!!

splendide · 19/02/2017 06:54

I like purity made simple by philosophy. It lasts me ages and ages.

I'm nearly out though and feeling poor so might try a cheaper thing next, maybe body shop.

bookworm14 · 19/02/2017 06:59

I was a Liz Earle fanatic but now use the Superdrug ones as can't afford Liz anymore. They are really good for the price, especially the Vit E one.

CatOnAWarmTinRoof · 19/02/2017 07:02

How often you you wash or replace the Hot Cloths?

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/02/2017 07:35

I use a fresh flannel twice a day. It holds the heat in better.

CatOnAWarmTinRoof · 19/02/2017 07:45

So do you have a stack of them and bung them all in the asher once a week?

FinallyHere · 19/02/2017 07:46

Err, yes.

Cocopops2 · 19/02/2017 07:53

Can anyone recommend one for dry sensitive skin please. Liz Earle makes my skin sting as do heavily scented cleansers !

FinallyHere · 19/02/2017 08:21

My skin can be very fussy, both Eve Lom and Liz Earl make my skin sting, though I love their smell, especially the Eve Lom. The idea is very appealing, of a hot flannel: the Body Shop chamomile rally works well for me. Very calming.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 19/02/2017 08:28

The Body Shop Camomile one seems to be working well for me. I don't find it as enjoyable to use as the Emma Hardie (which smells fantastic) but it seems suit my skin a bit better and it's about a quarter of the price!

CatOnAWarmTinRoof · 19/02/2017 08:28

Is there any different between the branded muslin squares and the baby muslins that we have all used in the past?

Bouncealot · 19/02/2017 08:40

Super drug is the best Ive tried. Rich but mild. Beware the muslin cloths. Some are not natural and clean your face like a cheap microfibre dish cloth on a frying pan. Cotton flannels are your friend. I see hot cloth cleansers as a non chemical alternative to the fruit acid/ lactic acid based masks and moisturisers (sorry if not scientifically correct descriptions!).

Finbar · 19/02/2017 08:59

Ive discovered the Waitrose Pure range one. Inexpensive and is as good as the Liz Earle. Is in a tube and got pink writing on it.
I didn't like the Superfrig ones - too many chemicals

Iamastonished · 19/02/2017 09:26

The Superdrug ones have the added advantage of being animal friendly.

wishiwasacollie · 19/02/2017 09:29

Try the espa one. Its amazing plus i use the optimal one once a week for exfoliation

Cakescakescakes · 19/02/2017 09:44

Cat the muslin she are precisely the same. Although the Emma Hardin ones are double sided. But to be honest I've had best results using a normal facecloth and they last a lot longer than the muslins too. I just bought a pile from Tesco and use a clean one every morning, use it again that night then chuck it in the wash.

Cakescakescakes · 19/02/2017 09:44

My phone is determined to autocorrect Emma Hardie....

P1nkP0ppy · 19/02/2017 09:54

Most if not all are full of chemicals (?to stop them going 'off'?), so personally I use pure soap and a facecloth and spend my money on a good, basic moisturiser.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 19/02/2017 10:00

The hot cloth cleanser by Sanctuary, which I get in Boots. Comes with a nice cloth. It's very pleasant smelling and it leaves my face feeling lovely. I put it into my S Korean skincare routine.

LittleWonderYou · 19/02/2017 12:00

I have some muslins that came with cleansers but I mainly use IKEA flannels which I bulk buy each time I go. They are soft but hold the heat in well.

dudsville · 19/02/2017 12:39

I just want to say that 6 months ago to the day I bought a 100 ml and a 200 ml tub of Eve Lom cleanser. I still have 2/3rd of the 200 ml tub left. It's expensive but it also lasts, and that's with twice daily use. I am tempted to try alternatives but this seems reasonable to me. I pair it with Khiel's "deep moisture balm". I had been struggling with tight skin that was itchy and lining heavily. Now my skin feels soooo comfortable. So the way I see it, once every 9-ish months I will spend £100 on a tub of cleanser and a tub of lotion.

Cakescakescakes · 19/02/2017 14:22

LittleWonder that's a good point that flannels hold the heat much much better than muslins. That's one of the main reasons I prefer a flannel.
