I use Clinique but want to save money so looking at overhauling my usual brands but there is so much to choose from!

Hello, this thread is a little old and the links are out of date. Take a look at this handy page for a round-up of Mumsnetters' favourite beauty dupes.

Barry m - brightening primer, it's purple. I think it's better than my benefit one.

Loads of make up revolution ones but the radiance pallet is amazing.

My daughter says her primark foundation is as good as her Mac one and I'm on a group on Facebook and a lot on there have said the same.

stevemolly · 16/02/2017 08:11

Rimmel BB cream with the blue lid I use this instead of my Clinique tinted moisturiser.

MinesaPinot · 16/02/2017 09:23

Yes to Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser - discovered one in the back of the cupboard unopened to thankfully replace the Elemis Cleansing Oil which brought me out in a big cyst on my chin Angry thank god for QVC's 30 day money back

Also Boots Time Delay Night Cream. Got it yesterday as they didn't have my L'Oreal night cream and took a chance - thought for £5 if I didn't like it I could use it up as body cream. Used it last night and face felt lovely and soft this morning. Will reserve judgement until I've used it for a couple of weeks but initial thoughts are encouraging. Whole range seems inexpensive so may be an alternative to my L'Oreal......

StrawberryShortcake32 · 16/02/2017 09:31

Aveeno baby emollient cream. Best moisturiser I've ever used! Even use it on my face.

Bourjois healthy mix gel foundation, great coverage and looks natural.
MUA powder blushers - a quid each and really pigmented.

Aoibhe · 16/02/2017 09:37

The best and longest lasting nail polish I have is from Primark, and believe me, I've tried them all Blush

MinesaPinot · 16/02/2017 10:08

Nothing more to add other than I love these threads - am picking up so much useful info and busy making list of products to try!

hunans · 16/02/2017 10:10

Aussie Mega shampoo.

Great volume without weighing my hair down.

mrsmortis · 16/02/2017 10:24

I've just started using The Ordinary from Deciem. I'm using the silicone primer and the retinol based serum. I like them so far but I've only been using them a week.

CoolCarrie · 16/02/2017 10:28

Primark foundation is excellent
Astral is great as a night cream & body cream, huge pots for 3.99, lasts for ages

VintagePerfumista · 16/02/2017 10:33

Also just started with The Ordinary. Have the Buffet serum, the hyaluronic, the Vit C and the retinol. All the lot for less than £15.

Astral blue pot is the bollocks for really dry skin (and necks etc)

ANY facial oil which isn't massively perfumed, in a pretty box and with a whopping mark-up. Look at the ingredients and you can get the same from Naissance on Amazon (all organic) and whack a drop of neroli in if you want it to smell nice. Trilogy/Clarins/the lot- massive massive rip-offs.

Mascara- best I've had recently was a double ended Maybelline one. The Benefit They're Real meanwhile is like putting black gloopy tar on my eyelashes.

Superdrug Vit E hot cloth cleanser is lovely. The Radiant one though, stinks to glory and made my skin very scratchy- probably not one for sensitive/dry skins.

Obviously, the by now world famous Collection whatever it's called now dupe of the YSL touche eclat highlighter pen. Doesn't stink like a rancid dishcloth after 2 days.

Olay Anti-ageing toner is an acid toner but doesn't brag about it and is a zillion times nicer than Nip/Fab/Pixi etc etc.

Perfume- get to Perfume Parlour and buy the dupes. £3 for the smallest size. Some are identical to the real thing, and some are even nicer. Only had a couple of mingers.

Maudlinmaud · 16/02/2017 11:50

Has anyone mentioned tanning products yet? Cocoa brown is fab, great colour, not orange and wears off really well. I have tried most tans out there, some costing ££s and I rate this stuff. They also have a golden goddess oil which is beautiful on legs/arms/collar bones in summer, it gives nuxe a run for its money.. Interestingly I turned my nose up at cocoa when first released as I thought expensive was the way to go. I was pleasantly surprised.

Maudlinmaud · 16/02/2017 11:53

@VintagePerfumista have you tried an angel dupe from perfume parlour?
I haven't used them before, whats your favourite scent from there?

Lottapianos · 16/02/2017 12:29

The best facial oil I have used (dry, dehydrated skin) is either Boots Botanics (costs under a tenner) or rapeseed oil from the kitchen cupboard. I tried Clarins Blue Orchid, Trilogy Rosehip and Nuxe dry oil - all totally meh and not worth the price.

VintagePerfumista · 16/02/2017 14:27

Maud- no, but Byblos Cielo (which costs less than a tenner usually on ebay/amazon) is identical to Angel, you get a massive 100ml bottle!)

My favourites are the Prada Infusion d'Iris (which I like better than the original) and the old classics like the Estee Lauders, YSLs etc. Have a couple of the Tom Fords and Frederic Malles which I haven't tried yet!

Maudlinmaud · 16/02/2017 14:35

Thank you Vintage I had a look at their site, now I don't know whether to go for oils or sprays Grin I will have a look on ebay for that dupe. I'm super hard on perfume I just spritz, spritz, spritz.

Gertiegoolash · 16/02/2017 15:09

Plain old nivea in the blue pot as a night cream ( too heavy for daytime) Revlon colourstay foundation.
Collection eyebrow palette
Sleek blushers
NYX eyeshadow

VintagePerfumista · 16/02/2017 17:28

I have to get the oils because they won't send sprays abroad, which is where I am, but at Christmas I had some sprays delivered to my Mum's and I much prefer them. The oils are roller ball and it just seems a faff somehow!

milkyman · 18/02/2017 14:53

Some great suggestions!

I really like the Superdrug Naturally Radiant hot cloth cleanser - which I think is a dupe for the Liz Earle one.
