Hi all,

I've got my brothers wedding coming up at the end of april. I'll still be exclusively breastfeeding my DD. I'm a size 16 - 18, if i go more than 2 hours without feeding i get leaky boobs. WHAT THE HECK SHOULD I WEAR?

Can anyone recommend any good places i might be able to get an outfit from? either shops or online. i'm willing to spend about £100.

thank you for any advice!!

i do remember that urgent leaky feeling! my advice would be to take dd, and a babysitter ( as you will be on site a young family friend or someone would be fine imo my niece always comes in hand though i wouldnt trust her with too mch responsibility) for them to push her around outside, use hotel room if reception is in hotel or similar, and sneak off when you need to. As its your brother, he should be pretty accomodating.
As for clothes, well, i got married when still breastfeeding and wore complicated dress then just virtually stripped off when i needed to feed (in private !) oh and was size 18 still looked fab of course i wouldnt let it limit what you wear for once, usually i would feed in public whatever but for that you need flexible clothing iyswim. monsoon is fab for clothes and have jsut had huge sale, the bigger stores still have some sale rails tucked away - beautiful dresses up to size 22! hth and have fun!

my DD is 4 mths and i'm still getting through 6-8 breast pads a day, i think it's a herditary thing, neither my mum nor my sisters bodys could ever get the supply and demand right, both leaked until they stopped BF.

please post size good and bad bits: used to be 16 top and bottom. now would say i'm 16 bottom and 18 top (due to gigantic BF boobs)
colorus that are good: mint green, pale pink, black of course
past hits: mint green rocha halter neck dress
and shoes you already have:feet are bigger than pre pregnancy so will probably have to buy new
also type of do: small family wedding service at registry office, then big fancy do at a county club.

thanks moopymoo

I agree re Monsoon, they have a v good choice in sizes 16-18, you could go for a dress and feed in private or smart top (and jacket) and skirt and then feed as and when you need to (perhaps have a pashmina/shawl if you feel the need for some privacy. Patterned tops are better at hiding leaky boobs! And get some decent breast pads, the ones by Lansinoh are great. Monsoon have good website so you could browse on there. Principles and Pahse Eight also good for dressy things and have decent range of sizes...

get some lilypadz for your boobs. You can get them on ebay brand new for £15 & they are fab for leaky boobs. They will also make you feel human again

my midwife told me the best thing to use for leaky breasts were always ultra pads rather than breast pads.i thought she was mad and said i'd rather stick to washable pads(the disposable ones are paper thin)thank-you very much!after weeks of leaking, mattress staining and the sheer embarassment of literally soaking wet tops i thought it was worth a go.they were fab,so absorbant.
