Fuck me I'm 35 and still drunkenly cutting my own hair

I did have annoying shoulder length hair, now have a little bob. I think it looks ok but I'm sure I'll have to try and find a hairdresser to tidy it up at the weekend. Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this!

I have up drunk hair cutting a few years ago after DH and I decided the I would look ace with a Mohawk.

I subsequently wore a hat for six months.

I always do the mumsnet cut, and have done for years, it always looks fine! I need to stop cutting my own fringe though as that is not looking great.

I'm very tempted to shave a chunk out of the back and have a shaved pattern but I'm not sure if that would be sensible.....

Hairy hands I'm well jel - always fancied a pink mohawk never was brave enough to try it. Can we get some pics of these glorious homemade hair cuts? I'm always tempted to cut mine myself and always chicken out

I've had a grand total of three professional hair cuts that I have really liked. Consequently, I tend to cut my own hair - but sober, not drunk!

I do much the same as eminy and put it into a low ponytail, pull the band out a bit so I can decide how long I want it to be, then snip the rest of the hair off. Sometimes I also trim the layers around my face a bit more by pulling them straight up and cutting across, so at least the front bit is symmetrical

I get (positive!) comments on my hair, so can't be completely hacking it!

I used a Creaclip about 8 months ago and am still growing out the atrociously bad 'face framing' (ha!) layers that resulted. It was my ineptitude rather than the Creaclip but damn, it was bad.

I'd actually love a real style but hairdressers seem to just all want to keep it long.

You need pictures of what you want (pintrest) and tell them to do it.
I went from bra length to Bob

The other week I had my hair in a plait after I'd washed it, once the ends had dried I realised they were split and gross - so, I do not know why, I just got the scissors out and lobbed the end off. Felt glorious whilst it was still in the plait, took it out and I had one huge clump missing right in the middle at the back. Grin still haven't braved the hairdressers - just constantly wearing it in a bun. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
