I'm 45 and have lost about 4 stone over the last couple of years.
Unfortunately my boobs are wrecked SadSad
I was a 36 j/k and I'm now a 32g/gg, however having tried on what feels like a million bras in different stores none of them fit.
My books are "full" at the bottom but empty/saggy (sounds lovely) at the top, I'm assuming due to weight loss.
I'm positive I'm trying the right size but the fit is poor. They're kind of gapey at the top. If I size down I get boob overspill Angry
The fitter in bravissimo said I'd just have to accept it. Any suggestions folks?

I can't believe they said that. Try somewhere else for a fitting. It sounds as if you haven't found the right shape/ style for you.

You probably need a different style rather than a different size. I've read some blog posts on this, I'll see if I can find a link.

explanation

I'm the same size as you, and I have the saggy emtpy thing going on at the top your on about.
What I found was that it was more the shape of the bra rather than the size.
Try balconette bras, they are like half cup bras that push everything to the top. Give you a more fuller look.
Don't go for the comfort style ones or the full cup ones, they tend to drag everything down.

Thanks all, I've always worn a full cup bra so looks like I've some shopping to do.
Have been to bravissimo many times over the years and it's the first time I've ever left empty handed. The fitter was really awful!

It's all very personal to your own exact shape and even within each brand and each category there will be certain bras which inexplicably fit better than others. Accept that fact and you save yourself a lot of fretting.

I used to work as a bra fitter, and i knew each and every bra within each brand we sold very well. Even with my guidance it would still take some customers about 8 try ons to get a bra which suited. No wonder we get disheartened struggling on our own (or with a shit fitter like OPs one sounds).

Personally i like a plunge bra. I find balconettes push me up to far, full cups let me fall in too far or give me quadra-boob, but the plunge seems to let my boobs settle in a natural ... well ... boob shape, but lifted.
