Where can I get a super-pale foundation?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any foundations that are suitable for really pale skin? I have the palest skin, yet any foundation always looks too yellow on me Sad I've tried Dior just before Christmas, and the lady put some on me which looked okay, but I don't know if she packed me the wrong one or something because it now looks really orange after a while now! I've also tried Benefit, but their palest one didn't match either! I have a Mac one coming on Saturday, but in case that doesn't work, what would you recommend?

I've also tried:
Rimmel
Revlon
Max Factor
Bourjois
L'Oreal
The Body Shop (can't remember the brand name)
Maybelline

And a few others, all in the palest shade, but they're always too dark!! Any suggestions? Sad

Note: I set with a translucent powder, so that shouldn't affect it, right?

Am pale but yellowish myself... have you tried the bourjois cc cream? The palest one is very pale. It's too pale for me but, not wanting to waste it, I tried it topped with Lily Lilo mineral foundation (in popcorn but you would prob need a paler one). Quite by accident I found the perfect shade and coverage!

Illsmasqua does really pale shades as does Nars. If you find it goes dark after time it means the foundation has oxidised. My best advice would be to search foundation for pale skin on Bloglovin or YouTube and you'll find lots of posts and videos from those in the know

Nars

Bobbi Brown, Clinique, No 7. Bobbi Brown because they use. Lot of yellow pigment which is great for paler skin. The last two because they're hypo allergenic and very pale skins are often the most sensitive so they have a v good range. My mum is so pale she burns in the shade on a cloudy day and she can always find something light enough in Clinique.

a lot not . Lot

My three DDs all have very fair skin. Bare Minerals do Ivory or Fairly Light which 2 of my DDs use depending on the time of the year. The other one prefers Liz Earle - not sure what shade she buys but her skin is very porcelain fair.

I have the Missha perfect cover in 13 and 21 and love them, but they don't give perfect coverage on my very oily skin.

Does anybody know what the NARS foundation coverage is like?

CateGory8 · 01/02/2017 09:24

I only know about the Nars all day luminous and i can confirm that it is build able so coverage is good.

HalfStar · 01/02/2017 11:13

If you're pale and have already bought foundation that's too yellow, try mixing it with a little bit of Benefit's High Beam. This vastly improves the palest shades of Armani Luminous Silk and EL Doublewear Light for me.

Lancome Teint Idole in 005 is very pale and pink toned.
Lily Lolo also fab for pale skin (I mix porcelain and blondie for the perfect shade).

Interested to hear about Charlotte Tilbury Magic foundation, I'm a bit tempted...

MrsRonBurgundy · 01/02/2017 11:28

I didn't get on with Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation, found it way too heavy. I've got half a bottle in my dresser still, I just use for big nights out now because it is quite Cakey.
I've tried applying it with my sponge, traditional foundation brush and a stippling brush and always feels too heavy. It does give really great coverage that lasts for ages hence it being named my "big night out" foundation but I wouldn't recommend for Day to day

SaltBae · 01/02/2017 11:31

Illamasqua in SB2 is a true match for me and I am basically see-through.

HalfStar · 01/02/2017 11:32

Really MrsRon, that is interesting. I don't need another big night out foundation since I don't go on many big nights out! Might avoid then.

Today I had one minute max to throw on some makeup before school run and I smoothed on some old Boots Botanical BB cream in the lightest shade, followed by a quick touch up with Lily Lolo foundation over some blemishes/red areas. The effect is not bad at all. The BB cream looks like it will be too dark initially and then kind of settles down.

Shukinskaya · 01/02/2017 15:51

Wrt Chatlotte Tilbury the colour wasn't quite right for me otherwise I would have bought it. I use quite an oily moisturiser though (less hard core foundations tend to slip right off) so maybe that is why it didn't seem cakey to me. Of a similar consistency to Estee Lauder doublewear ime. They are very generous with samples though HalfStar so I'd say you can definitely try before you buy!

HotLipsHooligan · 01/02/2017 15:52

Nars

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/02/2017 15:54

Lily Lolo do lots of very pale shades.
