Hair removing light zapper thingy

Has anyone got one of these? Are they good? Do you get ingrowing hairs? Am I going to die of cancer if I get one? I know they're £300 but I hate bikini waxes

I tried the Phillips iLight and was not impressed. The tiny area it covers made doing legs a long and boring task. It also overheated often and you had to let it cool down then resume. Was decent for underarms. I tried laser on legs and it was unbearable. Now I epilate -when I can be bothered-

Provided you have the correct skintone and hair colour yes it does work.

I have optimum hair/skin- mid brown hair and a beige type skin tone. I am more or less hairless in the required areas after 9 months use.

You do have to be patient and you do have to be consistent with its use. Follow the instructions and it will work.

I had no idea it was dependent on skin/hair tone! So you mean deathly pale and brownish reddish hair is not ideal? Bugger

Deathly pale with brown hair is perfect! Basically, pale skin dark hair. Dark skin gets burnt by it and light hair doesn't absorb enough energy for it to work.

Pale skin is good! Red and fair hair bad! If you look at Boots website it normally states instructions and examples of hair colour/skin tones it works with and does not.

Does it smart as much as a bikini wax???

The Lumea battery will die if you don't charge it regularly even when you're not using it. It does sort of say this in the instructions but it's not clear that the battery will be useless if you don't. You cannot replace the battery. So it's a commitment not just to the hair removal but to keeping the machine working. There was a thread about it last year. It does work if you use it properly and have a little patience.

Have you thought about getting laser at a salon? You can get a course of 6 sessions of a bikini for around £100 on groupon.

I love my Phillips Lumea.

It doesn't hurt at all, it feels a little warm sometimes but most of the time nothing.

From the first use there were patches where hair didn't grow.
