Decent quality black leggings for teen

DD1 has apparently decided that she will only wear black leggings and I need to replace the ones that are worn, have holes etc. I've bought M&S, Next and Boden in the past but wondered if anyone could recommend any other brands of decent quality leggings at a reasonable price as she wears them out quite quickly!

She is petite so can get away with large children's sizes - I don't buy adult clothes for her if I can get away with it. I know that threads crop up on here about adults leggings from time to time, but any ideas of children ranges that go up to around age 13/14 would be great.

I get my dds from new look teens - they're big made so I buy her the long length ones in the smaller size and they are literally the only ones that fit her well. Think they go up to 15-16 and they do regular length & long.
River island also do kids leggings up to 16, and they are quite thick and good quality.

Just bought a couple of pairs from Matalan for DD. Go up to age 15, thick and wash well. £3 each - bargin.

Go for sports leggings, which aren't see-through and last far longer (mine are 8 years and still going strong). Nike, Adidas, etc.

DD14 likes the JohhnieB ones the best. They are good quality, not at all aww-through and wash well.

Sciurus83 · 15/01/2017 14:22

Nike, reinforced seams, hold shape and colour. Definitely worth the extra £ over new look etc. as little danger of going see through in the pants area!

I always buy GAP leggings now. They have a winter range called cosiest leggings which are thicker than their standard ones ( although these are still the best we've had).

smurfest · 15/01/2017 19:03

In the past I've bought them from Boden for over £10 and from Zara for £3 - result is the same in terms of time they take to get holes in so I'd get them from Zara

Johnnie B goes up to age 16 and the black leggings are good quality IMO.

River island currently dd1. Fav I've just ordered 2 more pairs as the originals we bought last sept produced their first hole today!

Racheyg · 15/01/2017 21:38

Topshop do the best leggings imo lady for ages and are only £12.00

northerngirl71 · 15/01/2017 21:46

F&F at Tesco nice and thick for cold weather plus have lasted DD ages -good value for money

BlueEyedWonder · 16/01/2017 06:58

My very petite 13 year old daughter will also only wear black leggings.
Most recently H&M which go up to age 14 in kids.
She got a few different pairs. Legging type ones that fasten with a side zip, typical stretchy leggings and ones that are made of a slightly thicker fabric with zip pockets.

PossumInAPearTree · 16/01/2017 07:12

Tesco. They have normal thin ones but also do some thicker ones which are very good.

BritabroadinAsia · 16/01/2017 11:41

BlueEyedWonder - I like your thinking! Varying the styles is a great idea.

I'm irrationally irritated that she doesn't seem to want to wear anything else. Completely unreasonable of me, I know. Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions.
