I've got a designer leather bag that could do with nourishing as the leather is feeling a bit dry. What can I put on it? Don't want to put on any old thing in case it damages it or just attracts dirt.

So just wondering what you use on yours so I know it works!

Renapur leather balsam

Have used it for years, dab a sponge into pot and a tiny bit will do the whole bag. Also really good on leather jackets and shoes / boots.

Yes, the blue pot.
Very nourishing.

Hmm not sure I'd put Nivea on my bags as if sure I read that normal moisturisers have things in them that leather doesn't like. But hey ho that's just me.

In an update: I bought the Collonil leather gel + the polishing cloth from Rift Shoes off Amazon. I got the pump bottle as I've a few bags and that pot looked teeny!

Anyway I've treated 3 of my bags so far, although cautiously I'll admit as I love my MBMJ bags in particular as they were bought with hard earned pennies over the last 6yrs.

My michael kors tan Bedford tote seems to have come up well. I use it every day for work so it was probably most in need of some tlc!

I also used it on my black and purple MBMJ 'karlie' bags and they seem to have come out ok too. I was most worried about any colour or weird texture changes so I did it in natural light. My karlies were feeling a bit 'dry' to handle but now they feel a bit softer and pliable. The leather is pebbled so I was careful to make sure I really rubbed it in and buffed it once dry. I've then left them out or the dust bag for 24hrs to make sure they were dry before going away again. I don't know if this is necessary but I would be devastated to find any mould as a result of over moistness!

I stopped short of using it all over one of my MBMJ Petal to the Metal mini bags as I did a small area and wasn't sure about the texture. Was probably overanalysing but I've since read that lambskin leather is more delicate. So now I'm not sure whether to just leave it, use Collonil 1909, Collonil delicate or Renapur🤔
