Removing shellac

Help! I've picked the shellac off my nails but I can't get rid of the rest!
The salon use a kind of dremmel machine to file it away which is like to avoid because it hurts and makes the nail very thin.
I have some acetone but not sure what to do.
Advice please wise S&B ladies

DON'T PICK AT IT ANY MORE!!!!

Based on what they do in my salon (no dremelling involved, I'm a bit shocked they use something so harsh for gel polish), get little bits of cotton wool and soak them in the acetone. Stick bit of soaked cotton wool on each nail and then wrap it in tinfoil. Leave for five or ten minutes, and you should be able to gently scrape or wipe the polish off.

STOP picking at it and do not blame the tech/gel Polish for the damage you will have caused your nails.

To remove the rest soak in acetone. If it's genuine CND it should come away within ten mins. if it's a cheap knock off just soak Til it's off. (if they're drilling it off its a cheap knock off)

I agree with Leedy about the acetone but you might need to file the surface of the shellac to let the acetone penetrate. I have had shellac done at the sort of place where they use a drill and the acetone didn't do anything until I had removed the surface layer.

You can blame them for the shitty drilling though. no excuse for drilling gel Polish off.

Soaked for 10 mins and it scraped off.
I'll stick with normal polish from now!

Well you can do gel again now you know what to do! The key is to buff the shiny layer off with a file then it should come off easily with acetone/cotton wool/foil. Not much more hassle than polish really.

You don't need to buff shellac, it's gel your thinking of.

You don't scrape with an orange stick either, soak & wipe any residue with CND nourishing remover on a cotton pad or re-wrap if you have the time. Doug Schoon has researched the effects of impatient removal techniques & it leaves little dents in your nail.

Like ice said, if their drilling shellac off its knockoff cheap gel in shellac bottles.

You can buy shellac removal kits, it's £13 for two sets to be removed. Much safer for your nails.

If there's any damage on the nail rescue rx from CND will repair it. Or IBX if you go to a salon.
