Long sleeve plain tops

OutwardBound2016 · 01/01/2017 15:04

I am searching for some long sleeved, slim fitting plain tops to layer. I am quite tall and would like them to bottom covering (or near to). Ideally around the £20 mark as I need quite a few colours. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Watching with interest as I'm yet to find these too.

Petit bateau.

Lands End, Uniqlo, Primark, Gap

slug · 01/01/2017 16:46

Uniqulo without a doubt. Available in a variety off necklines and colours and all good quality.

carrie74 · 01/01/2017 16:51

Baukjen do super long ones, but they're expensive. I've just bought a fantastic plain black top in the Cos sale (in store), which is a great length AND had thumb holes. I never want to take it off!

BigcatLittlecat · 01/01/2017 16:53

Sainsburys do a great one! I bought them two years ago and have worn and worn them. Last week was looking and they had them again! Bought them again! Great for layering!

White Stuff

Lunaballoon · 01/01/2017 16:57

Another vote for Uniqlo. I must have at least ten of their long sleeved Ts in multiple colours. I wear them for layering, as pyjama tops, under shirts for extra warmth. They come in plain cotton or their heat tech range is fab!

Cosmicglitterpug · 01/01/2017 17:06

Sainsbury's ones are really good. I have four and wear them loads.

Rednailsandnaeknickers · 01/01/2017 17:38

I got a couple half price in Hobbes sale so would be in your budget at that price. I've had them before and they were excellent, washed really well, looked good as new for ages. I'll try to find the receipt for code.

OutwardBound2016 · 01/01/2017 18:26

Thanks everyone, are the Sainsbury's ones on line (all the stores near here are rubbish). I have some heattech but they aren't that long on me unfortunately. I have had mixed success with Gap and our local one has closed down making it extra difficult to find the best ones

Primark if just for layering, I wear them for workso have been washed a lot

Says they are sold out, although I saw some in a largish Sainos today.

CantChoose · 02/01/2017 18:54

When did you last try a heattech outward? I've recently bought a few new ones as mine were looking tired and they're annoyingly far too long, I'm sure they've changed! But might be perfect for you!

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 02/01/2017 18:55

Frankly, all mine are from Primark.

OutwardBound2016 · 02/01/2017 19:00

Thanks everyone. Cantchoose, a few years old might give them another try as I love the fabric. Vivienne, I used to live in Primark vests which were a great length but the quality was so patchy, some washed really well and others didn't (even though they looked the same). Will go on a hunt using all these suggestions, thank you.

Sainsbury's TU premium ones (approx £10), I've bought 4 and they wash well.

RemusLupinsChristmasMovie · 02/01/2017 20:55

I'd really like some extra long ones. Have given up on both M&S and Hobbs as they are too short.

Couldashouldawoulda · 02/01/2017 21:08

I have 3 of the LTS ones. They do them every year. I like them. I also have some heattech ones, but they're much shorter.

Batteriesallgone · 02/01/2017 21:12

I love H&M Henley style tops. In fact Henley style from anywhere is fab for me. Just got a lovely one in the Laura Ashley sale

bingohandjob · 03/01/2017 09:34

Uniqlo supima cotton - I've got 3 of each of the long sleeve ones in black, white, grey, navy and wear them a lot as a layer, on own and they wash brilliantly. The white ones are brilliant on holiday as I'm so fair and are a great cover up.

OhSoggyBiscuit · 03/01/2017 10:28

Normally, Primark for basics but as others have said, the quality can be a bit hit and miss. I've had clothes that were pretty good quality and others where it had a hole within the first wear.
