Is Botox the only answer for forehead creases?

I am in my mid thirties and already have marked lines all across my forehead. It's affecting my confidence and I feel depressed every time I look in the mirror. I know lifestyle is probaby a big factor - I have two small DCs, work long hours, no time to eat properly or exercise, have a DH who's away a lot and no family help. DH has made it clear that he would be really unhappy if I had Botox, but is there anything else I can do to help the appearance of the lines? Facials or other treatments, or good products to use?
Other than the lines my skin is ok but quite dull looking.
Please help.

Emma Wedgewood at Dr Sam Bunting's office is a wonderful practitioner.
She will do only enough to make you look fresh and nothing more.
My husband said he would leave me if I did it - but he hasn't.
To all intents and purposes I am your average scruffy mum. Not a glamazon and you would never think I'd had it done, except I look fresher.

I recommend it. The only thing is it's quite expensive.

I met up with work colleagues who I haven't seen for months I haven't told any of them about the Botox. I've got home and had 3 texts telling me how well I looked today. It's very subtle if done well, I just look so much fresher. I'm 40 in may and whilst I have problem with my age my wrinkles are quite severe for somebody my age.

He will not notice it if done properly, you will love it. I have very deep frown lines which makes me look anxious and stressed all the time. Having botox really changed the character of my face. The only lines that were visable after botox where my laughter ones and hence I looked like a woman that smiles a lot instead.

I have roseaca and sensitive skin and after botox I could really focus on treating the sensitivity and texture of my skin (rather than "anti ageing" since the botox had sorted that) which further transformed my skin.

I don't look different, or even younger, but I look happier, less angry and it has changed how others perceive me for sure.

I'm an aesthetic nurse. He wouldn't notice if you didn't want him too

I am mid 30s and had Botox recently for forehead lines. I had "baby Botox" the first time round, but liked it so much that I had more done this time round. It was very light touch the first time round - even though I've had more done this time no one has noticed, including my DP. I do feel a lot better having had it done and it will help to prevent further lines.

What is 'baby' Botox? Just smaller amounts? I have such angry frown lines, I hate them! How long does it last?

CHJR · 10/01/2017 19:12

In my experience lines don't matter as much as people seem to feel, it's just they make you feel as if you don't recognise yourself, other people don't notice them in the same way they won't notice a quite surprising amound of weight gain/loss. As long as the lines don't make you look angry when you're not (in which case, Botox is totally JUSTIFIED so's not to stampede the horses). Sagging is more of an issue, and sounds like it's not a problem for you!

Don't waste your money on creams - they wont get rid of lines.

Botox will - it's marvellous when done right.

I have it and no-one knows - I just get loads of questions about what I use on my skin!

I look at photos of when I was 35 (I am 46) and I had 3 quite noticeable lines on my forehead, and horrible cross-looking number 11s. They are all gone now but I can still move my forehead.

Rockpebblestone · 10/01/2017 19:28

I find blurring creams work. They are like colourless makeup though and wash off. They act a bit like polyfiller really.

Just have BOtox, I have it about once a year because I'm just trying to keep the deep frown groove away I'm not aiming for frozen face. They always say, see you in 6 months! Actually, atm I haven't had it for about 18 months. Might look at getting it done again but I'm only just noticing the cross face coming back.

BlondeBumshell · 10/01/2017 22:22

CHJR, I agree, I hated that I looked like I was in a bad mood all the time! Botox made me look happier.
