I think I have lost my way fashion wise...

I'm a 32 year old, mum to a 15 month little girl and I could really do with some fashion guidance! My little girl has an amazing wardrobe of clothes, thanks in part to my v generous MIL and I love buying clothes for her. Me on the other hand, well I don't remember when I last bought clothes for myself, my jeans are worn thin, tops mishapen etc... I need help, I'd love it if anyone could help suggest shops to try, or a capsule type wardrobe.
Back when I used to buy clothes, I went to New Look, Dorothy Perkins and Next. I feel like they aren't me anymore, have I grown out of them?
Any words of wisdom would be gratefully received!!

Who do you think looks good?

How would your describe your ideal style, for your current lifestyle?

What's your shape and size?

What items would you or wouldn't you wear?

I'd find a look and style you like that suits you and is practical then buy a bit of a uniform eg one pair jeans, one pair trousers, two tops, two blouses, two knits.

For example my casual style is skinny or mom jeans, slouchy knits, sweatshirts or button up shirts, trainers or chunky ankle boots. I almost never wear skirts or pencil dresses, don't wear tight fitting or low cut styles, my style is definitely on the more casual, masculine, edgy side.

On the high street I buy clothes from Zara, Topshop, H&M and occasionally Primark, if I can spend a bit more then it's Whistles.

I think casual is definitely what I need for my lifestyle. Running after a little one, and a job that is pretty active, no dress code (jeans are fine).
I'm 5 ft 7, a size 12-14, like my legs, but have been left with a bit of a mum tum!
I look at people and think they look amazing, but can't see how it'd work on me, or my lifestyle. For example, I love how body on dresses look on people, but it'd make me look like a sack of potatoes! I love Kate middletons style, but it wouldn't work crawling round after a 1 yr old, or at work either.

Listening in eagerly for advice as I could have wrote this!!

I've taken first step by chucking out stuff that is has holes, is mishapen etc.. or just doesn't fit anymore. I have very little left, but some things that I've forgotten I had. Went to H & M and was actually really surprised that there was so much there that I liked! I got a slouchy knitted jumper, a few replacement vest tops, and two other tops. Tried Zara, but everything seemed to just be in black, I want a little colour at least! It helps that once a week I'm only 5 mins away from Oxford Street, only realised this today!!
Not sure where to look for inspiration now though...

Hi depends on your style, try zara and mango for reasonably priced items with a lot of range from really put together professional look or casual but still put together.

You can try highwaisted jeans or chinos, chinos might be more comfortable as the way they fit its not constricting, they come in more 'casual' and 'formal' materials, paired with a nice jumper, poplin shirt or button down-- all very comfy, all you can find in shops like zara, warehouse, mango, or go to the dept stores and they have a lot of the highstreet brands in 1 area.

Oxford street is good but can get overwhelming.

Pick one item from your wardrobe you love could be anything from an item of clothing to a bit of jewellery. Match everything back to that item or the feel of the item.

Which h&m range were you picking out of?

Sorry i didnt realised you said you didnt like zara. Around oxford st, regent st and carnaby st. You can try & other stories, brandi melville, all the big dept stores, stradivarius, warehouse.
