Make up with a head cold - what do you do?

I've got a head cold today. I don't always wear make up but it reminded me of those times when youre better enough to go out but you got that terrible cold-look face, preferably with red and/or peely nose and sensitised skin. So what do you wear to look something other than a pale corpse or a red cheeked clown for make up?

Poor you, it's miserable. I ramp up my moisturiser and facial oil at night, and get plenty of moisturiser on during the day. Avoid bright lip colours so that they don't clash with your nose Smile I sometimes wear extra eye make up but not if eyes are runny. I mostly concentrate on cheeks to give me a bit of colour and glow. Drink plenty of water because you will be very dehydrated. As much sleep as possible and hope you feel better soon x

Bumping this - I am actually off work with a hideous cold, and look completely awful. Help!

Moisturiser and lip balm are your friends here. Apply liberally.

I usually forgo the blusher as I'm red and congested enough already. Neutral lipstick for the same reason. Plenty of concealer round the nose, powder to set everything in place. Reapply throughout the day, early night and pray it goes away quickly.

Ah there's a lot of it about! I was at work yesterday but this morning, despite actually feeling a bit better, I've only got half a voice. Two client meetings later that I'll have to reschedule; I'm not sure that a whispery squeak will cut it Grin

Yesterday I just wore a bit of concealer, waterproof mascara and a peachy-coral sheer lipstick for a bit of life.

Feel better soon Flowers

I usually go for a slight fake tan as a pick me up. You need to be careful on the dry areas around the nose. Lrp cicaplast b5 baume is brilliant for sorting out that area.

Thanks for the kind words and the great tips guys. It's something that I've never got right in the past so I will try these and hope to stop sporting the Rudolph look!
