I need a uniform. I'm a sahm with older children. I'm 38. So tired of comfort everyday.

I don't really like shopping, Do you know shops or things that I could buy?

What kind of look do you like? An aqauintance of mine always seems to be in jeans nd a pale floaty top, it suits her but it isn't a "fashion"look. Another is always in below knee skirts and boots, and always has shiny nails! If you don't particularly want to look absolutely fashionable, just pick a loook you likeand stick to it

BusterGonad · 11/12/2016 08:56

Why does it have to be a 'uniform '? It makes it sound so boring, do you not enjoy clothes or clothes shopping?

MsUnderstanding · 11/12/2016 08:57

If you hate shopping then you need an online store with a good returns policy. Where you shop online will depend on your personal style, budget etc. If you can tell us what kind of look you are going for then I'm sure someone will be able to narrow down your options.

If I were you I'd look on line where the models have whole outfits on and you can then simply pop the whole outfit into your basket. Do you know what things suit your body shape?

AvaCrowder · 11/12/2016 13:56

Thanks for the replies.

I don't like shopping, and I don't know what suits me anymore. Everything used to look nice on me so I didn't make much effort, but now everything looks wrong on me.

I might have to go and try some things on and see.

Perhaps try a personal shopper OP. I did that when I was in a rut with clothes and she really helped me put some outfits together than I wouldn't have managed myself. They're often free at bigger stores. I did mine at Topshop (admittedly a few years ago!) and it was surprisingly good.

I've gravitated towards a uniform this year since having a baby - just makes things easier! I mostly wear black, white and navy. This is basically all I wear:
4 x pairs skinny cords (navy, black, burgundy, tan)
3 x jumper dresses (2 x black, 1 x navy)
2 x cashmere sweaters (black, navy/white stripe)
1 x navy oversized shirt
2 x white oversized shirt
2 x trainers (black and white Nike flyknits, navy Adidas Gazelles)
1 x black chelsea boots
4 x vests (black, white, navy, breton)
2 x navy/white breton tops
1 x black dungarees
1 x black cardigan
1 x navy cardigan
1 x navy wool coat

I do a uniform, or several versions of one.

Work - pencil, full or tube skirt with black top and jacket. This is easy to adapt to different seasons, with lighter or heavier fabrics.

Play - either skinnies, denim mini or tube skirt, with black top/jumper.

Basically, wearing a lot of black means most of my clothes go together!

You could try buying from one shop, not exclusively, but in the main. I've recently just updated my wardrobe quite a bit and a lot of my stuff is now from Hush. So most skirts match jumpers, scarves, bottoms, dresses etc. The colours work together well. I've got a lot of greys, olive, baby pink, burgundy etc.

AvaCrowder · 11/12/2016 18:19

Thank you for your ideas.

I like the list of clothes!

I second finding one shop you like and buying outfits from there. I hate shopping and I just buy clothes from cos these days. Much easier.
