What top to go with these skirts?

It's my 30th birthday in a few weeks and I'm looking for something to wear. I'm going out for drinks with friends in a bar, there's no dress code but I'd like to look nice. I am breastfeeding and will probably need to express in the toilets while I'm out (oh so classy!)

I like these skirts but I can't decide which one I prefer and I also don't know what to put with it (either). I haven't lost the baby weight from my stomach especially so I'd like to cover up as much as possible without looking like I'm wearing a tent. Any suggestions?

I'm also looking for something, possibly a dress, which I can wear for a family celebration on my actual birthday where I will need to feed my daughter without exposing my nipples to every member of my extended family so any suggestions for that would be great!

Both skirts are gorgeous! I am also currently bf and invited to a Christmas wedding so recently had to buy a top for a similar style skirt. I got the zahara top from Coast BUT this week saw a gorgeous red cropped bardot top in New Look that would look great with your first skirt. Will see if I can find a link...

I like the black one, but think if you're carry extra weight round the tummy either one could make you look larger than you are.

However if I had to wear one, I'd wear the first one, with a black wrap top.

I know, I did worry that either skirt could make me look bigger. I really wanted to wear a skirt though. Maybe I just need to look for a different style.

Thanks both for responding.

I like both too but I'd agree with other poster that possibly that kind of skirt isn't quite right if you're self conscious about your tummy at the moment (I think it's the kind of thing I'd wear to highlight the middle section, with a top tucked in...)

Could you wear something a bit less fitted around the waist but which shows off your legs or cleavage instead maybe?

Next do nice cami vests. You tuck it in and pull it out a bit so it hides anything you need it too. Go bare arms if you are that sort or nice cardigan / shrug / wrap if you are not.

Fwiw, there's absolutely nothing un-classy about expressing milk!

How about a dress instead - maybe a style that shows off your cleavage? Or a wrap jumpsuit or a looser-fitting top with skinny trousers and heels? I have a flattering wrap jumpsuit which I can bf in from Closet.

It's more the expressing in the toilet that's un-classy.

I'm at a complete loss. I used to have a flat stomach so I'm not used to having to dress to cover it up. In fact none of my body is how it used to be so I'm pretty clueless now. I've been feeling pretty rubbish about myself so it'd be nice to have something to wear that makes me feel good. I've pretty much lived in leggings while I was pregnant and since.

I like the idea of a looser fitting top with skinny trousers alternatively. I could do with a day to shop but I have about a week left to do my Christmas shopping (we're also going away for a few days before Christmas) and two children in tow slows me down massively!
