How much will leather trousers stretch?

I've bought some real leather leggings which are a perfect fit, nice and tight but I can breathe in them, but I'm worrying that they will stretch and become baggy. Does anyone have any experience of this to advise me? Thanks

And of course, there's no option to put them in the wash and dryer to tighten them up again if they do go baggy

Ooh, which ones did you get? My only experience with full leather trousers is with motorcycle leather trousers - I have had a pair for 15 years and they are still unstretched. I have a pair of leather/ponte mix leggings and so far no stretching.

Thank you verypuny, that sounds positive. I'm a bit nervous though about spending this much money on trousers as I've heard that real leather does stretch. Can anyone else advise me that I'm not making a mistake in keeping them?

You can wash them. Soak them first until saturated and then stick in the dryer on a high heat.
Glad you can breathe in them, that's fairly important Grin.

Haha yes that's true! Really, it's possible to wash them without ruining them? I didn't know that was possible with leather

Google first for washing instructions, fuzzy, I'd hate to be to blame for ruining your trousers! I did it on the advice of some random internet people and they came out fine, and regained their shape. Smile

I've just had a quick google. Some sites saying use dryer on high heat and some saying don't use any heat as it will make the leather brittle!! Thanks for the tip though. I'm just hoping some more people will be along to say leather doesn't stretch out of shape then I'll feel more confident about them. It's an expensive purchase for me and I don't want baggy trousers!

It's a minefield, I've probably buggered mine up and they'll go all brittle in a couple of months Sad. They're ok now (about a year old).
Agree, nothing worse than the old Butt Saggington, as my teen calls it Grin
