I have to share with you my brilliant discovery. To be honest, I have used these little gems before, but this time round, I used it on DRY hair.

Their smallish bottles of wash in/wash out 'colour enhancers' - supposedly used in place of conditioner. On the bottle it says to wash hair, then massage in, leave for 5 mins & rinse or for a more intense result, use on dry hair. I did exactly that, although left it for an hour.

My hair was a meh warm brown before. I used Light Strawberry Blonde & it's now a gorgeous copper colour. It's really brightened (and lightened in places) my hair, it shines lovely & in the sunshine my hair looks such a lovely colour.

I think they come in a range of colours from cool blonde to mahogany for brunettes. Costs £1.49 a bottle (on offer at the moment at £1.29).

I've been in and purchased another 2 bottles, hoping they don't run out of stock!

Yes, they are great. Not particularly good if you have lots of grey as they can turn it a bit orangey. I used them for a while but now love henna. Its a faf but OMG the condition is second to none now. Bye bye dry hair..hello glossy frizz free hair!!

auldfuckingspinster · 01/12/2016 20:03

I'm a recent convert to henna, my hair's in amazing condition. It's not as much of a faff as I thought it would be.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/12/2016 00:18

It isn't too bad now. I use henna and indigo mixed as my hair is brown [ well grey brown!!!] I usually mix it and freeze it then take a bit out when i need it and mix it with indigo. Going to do mine at the weekend. Think i will sleep with it on this time.

I love these, I can't use proper dye as my hair is so weak and these brighten it and tone out the grey.

Powergower · 02/12/2016 10:17

Henna??? How? Does your hair end up red? Can someone please explain as my hair is so so dry using dyes.

User1408, take your poor imaginings elsewhere.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/12/2016 11:42

It doesnt end up red as I use indigo to give a kind of deep red. Its a beautiful colour and very natural looking. Its like a dark conker brown.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/12/2016 11:43

obviously it has red undertones but you can add things to henna to get black and varients of brown rather than red.

youvegottobekidding · 02/12/2016 12:14

I've never used Henna, but have heard great things about it. I don't know if I could manage with the faff on with it though, as i'm a bit of a colour addict (although i am trying to be good and give my hair a rest!) I do have to colour my hair most times when OH is at work so he doesn't find out (he thinks i'm crazy for colouring hair as much as i do and is probably paranoid that it will fall out). I do, however enjoy the look on his face when he looks slightly perplexed at me trying to figure out if i have coloured it or not and i point blank swear i haven't :)

My dh doesnt believe in me dying it either but then i have been going grey for years and there was NO way I was going to have grey hair in my thirties. I am 49 now and dye it with henna because the dye, even the one from superdrug was giving me terrible frizz.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/12/2016 12:33

For my hair, henna takes ages as my greys are quite resistant. I have perfected the faff though!! I don't care what my dh thinks. I have dyed my hair forever and its too bad.

Timetravels · 02/12/2016 12:55

How have you perfected the faff? Do share the secret. And what

Timetravels · 02/12/2016 12:56

Oops pressed send too soon. What do you add to heena to make it blacker/ browner?

neveradullmoment99 · 02/12/2016 15:51

I add indigo to henna to make it more brown.
To perfect the faff I prepare the henna before. It takes a good few hours for it to release its dye, then I freeze it and use it as and when. You can make a batch of it into separate containers. Then when you need it, defrost it and mix the indigo then add that immediately and mix. I use hair dying brushes to apply it. I do it in sections. It gets easier with practice. I start at the top. I wrap it all up in cling film and am now planning to sleep with it on so I dont have to have it on my hair for hours and have to stay in.
