Flat shoes to wear with midi skirts for fat legs

I've recently bought this midi pinafore & this midi full leather skirt but have no idea what to wear with them on my feet in daytime. I want something comfy with the apperance of being trendy & not ridiculous for my plus size legs. Help!

I'd go for flatform brogues.

I'd go for biker- or lace up ankle boots. Not too chunky, not too dinky.

Not ballet flats or titchy shoes of any description. As the possessor of a brutish calf myself, I think small shoes make you look as if you 'taper out'. End at floor level with something with presence, like a platform loafer or boot as pps suggest.

I personally think midi length dresses should be avoided altogether unless you have slim legs. Midi skirt cuts right at the widest part of your lower leg and if you are also short it can be tough to pull off. I think a wedge or heel is needed to elongate and slim and avoid looking dowdy.

Agree that if you have chunky calves then you def need heels with a midi skirt.

A block heel will give height while not giving you the pig-on-stilts look

"I think small shoes make you look as if you 'taper out'."

I agree. Tiny shoes just accentuate chunky calves.

I also find midi skirts/dresses very unflattering. I wore them in he 1970s/80s and 90s and find knee length is a far more flattering length.

Wow, midi skirt length and flat shoes is a tough look to pull off unless you're tall and (ideally) have slim calves. I would suggest a close-fitting pair of plain-coloured knee-high boots, pref with a heel, to keep your leg silhouette as toned as possible. Ted & Muffy - formerly Duo - are a good bet as they do variable calf sizes.

midi skirt and flat shoes combo is tough!

I have one midi skirt I wear with plimsols, sounds odd maybe but it works. The skirt is quite feminine and the shoes are flat/comfy/low key grey primary ones.

In winter I'd pair a midi skirt with leather superga's or similar.

Personally as a short, slightly plump person with large calves I avoid midi length anything like the plague. The length hits my legs at the widest point and makes them look huge and me, really stumpy. I wear just above the knee as it shows that my knees and ankles are slim and makes my fat calves look shapely rather than huge.

If you're going to do midi length with large lower legs then I'd try either chunky shoes to try and balance out the length or heels to lift you a bit.
