Tis possible perhaps, that Joss has been spending lots of time in the US and has picked up a bit of the twang. Has she been Stateside? I don't actually know, but pondered that perchance she has, and this explains the accent. Young people do pick up accents quite quickly.

A friend of mine has lived in California (just outside LA) for 13 years. He is married to an American and they have 2 children who talk with American accents. Whilst he may use some American expressions now and again, his accent is still pure Brummie Irish! How can that dopey bint have picked up an accent in the time she has been there? It's like someone who went to Disneyworld on their holidays and now calls everyone 'Y'all'.
