I have an interview for university next week. It's really important to me and I want to make a good impression.

My problem is I have no style. I don't have a clue what to wear and need to buy something this weekend.

It can't be something to formal - no tailored suits, but definitely nothing too casual.

The major problems are -

I'm very short (5ft) and even petite ranges tend to need altering.

I'm a size 14-16

I have big noorks (Double D's)

Being a student I'm on a budget. I need a whole outfit for under £80 including boots/shoes

I am begging for any advice. I will be eternally grateful for any suggestion on what to buy and where to buy it.

Oh and I'm 27 if that makes any difference

what about this or one of the other principles dresses? with boots/shoes from New Look/sale - Jones Bootmakers might have one on still? If you have a smart jacket/can borrow one, that should be fine for a university interview.

Just browsing on the Principles website. I'm not sure about the dress but some of the other stuff is very nice (if a tad expensive, with my budget)

Dior the skirt looks lovely but I'm so short that I really need petite sizes

Thanks for the suggestions. Any other ideas welcome

hi miawallace,
how about some pretty heels (not too high) with a smartish pair of trousers that touch the top of your foot so they elongate your legs. Then wear with a pretty top and jacket or pretty belted cardigan?

MiaWallace · 14/02/2007 16:56

I like the idea of a belted cardigan. Still smart without looking like I'm trying too hard.

I'd go with black trousers (Next, New Look, George @ ASDA) & a v-neck black three quarter length sleeve jumper (M&S £12) & a pair of small heels which can be found in New Look for as little as £10 all worn with a smart coat...Does that help at all?

luciemule · 14/02/2007 16:59

I think scottishthistle has hit the nail in the head! And slimming look too.

MiaWallace · 14/02/2007 17:43

Thank-you scottishthistle. The jumpers perfect smart but reasonably priced. Do you think the red would be ok instead of black though?

OP posts:
ScottishThistle · 14/02/2007 19:23

The red would be fine unless you are going for a slimline look & in that case I'd go with red shoes instead of a red jumper if you feel you need a bit of colour!

MiaWallace · 14/02/2007 19:47

Great idea. You're good at this scottishthistle.

thanks
