Alternatives to leggings - help!

So, since having 2 kids in just over 2 years (DC2 is 3mo), I've gone from a size 8-10 to a size bugger knows what (I'd say probably 18-20). When I was skinnier I was always comfortable in leggings with dresses or long tops/jumpers.

Now my between DCs size 14 leggings don't fit properly and are rolling down, and quite frankly, its cold. However, I've never really got on with jeans, I guess they were comfortable enough when I was smaller but in my younger days when I was more this size I could never get ones that fitted properly.

I'm really getting annoyed at not having any properly fitting clothes, can anyone point me in the right direction? I can't quite bring myself to traipse round the whole high street trying stuff on that doesn't fit yet.

I'm 33, 5ft 3, and around 14stone if that helps. Not a huge budget really as will probably have to buy new tops etc too. I like quite colourful things too. Thanks Smile

I would pay the extra (£12) for the single pack Luxury Sainsburys leggings. they are also single size where the twin pack is a multi size...I found the single size a better fit

I find M&S good for large tights which won't roll down, but aren't designed for people with 6ft long legs either. If you do make a choice between wrinkly legs and rolling down waist, go for the wrinkly legs. I'm never going to forget the funeral where I spent my time clinging on to the top of my tights through my dress - after I'd dashed into a sideroom to sort out the waistband before it appeared at my knees...

My bottom half is firmly stuck at a size 18 (very pear shaped hips) and I'm 5'3'. I've just discovered Primark's fleece lined footless tights in size L/XL - warm, thick like leggings and fit really well. Alternatively M&S tights in XL also fit me really well and stay up.

Actual leggings, the best pair I have is an Evans pair in an 18 that I bought when I still went in there (used to be 4 stone heavier so always used to shop there when I had very limited choices). The problem I have with Sainsburys leggings is that they are far too loose round my ankles and just look silly.

M&S jeggings are good - I think they've been renamed as super skinny now.
