Dying a Mulberry bag

I have a cream lambskin mulberry bag. It was a terrible colour to choose as it's now filthy.

I was going to get it dyed back or navy but the handbag clinic said it would be £300!!!!!

Am I mad to try and do it myself??

I've dyed leather boots myself before but not sure I would risk it on a mulberry bag! But then again if you're not using it anyway as it's too grubby then you've nothing to loose.

You can do it, but first, why don't you use proper leather shampoo to clean it, and moisturise it with leather cream, and then put it on ebay and buy something that will work better for you? If you get the dyeing wrong, you won't like it, and you won't be able to sell it, either.

It was a present from DP so I couldn't sell it.

Have a browse on the Purse Forum, several people who have DIY dyed their bags (with pictures and product recs). It's probably also worth consulting a good cobbler and see what they charge.

Don't do what I did, which was put a leather bag in the washing machine. I honestly didn't know it would dissolve!
