Ha ha - I have tried them once, and all I seemed to get was a VPL!! that was almost worse than the tummy!

I wanted to start this thread! I wore some tummy control ones from M&S and they were horrible, the most unconfortable thing ever! But I thought maybe good quality ones would work? Also I was wondering if anyone new whether they help pulling your tummy muscles together? Where I come from everyone wears them post birth and swear by them.

oliveoil · 13/02/2007 13:41

The M&S ones work

I have some and they make my stomach look flat and crease free

LaCerbiatta · 13/02/2007 13:49

Did you get them in your normal size oliveoil? I thought they were either to unconfortable or too small.... Also, they weren't high enough so they were cutting my tummy in half iyswim. I just remembered that I wore a pair of tights with tummy control and they were fab, not only holding my tummy in but also smoothing the thighs.

oliveoil · 13/02/2007 13:51

I am a size 12 and fairly slim BUT I have a wobbly stomach (pesky brats) and I got some to wear with a slinky dress for a wedding (hide celulite too, bonus).

Mine to up to my waist and about mid thigh or so

yaddayah · 13/02/2007 14:02

Similar to Oliveoil in figure.. i brought a pair from next.. they were rubbish !!. just squished the bits out.. i ended up with very strange lumpy mid thighs.. i prefer control top tights (they do them in sheer as well m&s do good ones) seems to hold in the wobbles without dissapating the flab elsewhere

controlfreakyandroses · 13/02/2007 14:07

you need spanx. the long line ones. they are the business.

oliveoil · 13/02/2007 14:12

mine are like these in a hideous fleshy beige colour BUT THEY WORK

controlfreakyandroses · 13/02/2007 14:17

thats the right idea... but the spanx one are longer at top... stop just under bra line... and are made of v lightweight, breathable fabric.... dont made you feel like a sausage encased in sweaty plastic . can you tell i cant reccommend them highly enough??

chocolatebirdy · 13/02/2007 14:21

tried the m&s ones, didnt get on with them. Its a con, all that wobbly flesh has to go somewhere, they just move it, so not magic atall!

controlfreakyandroses · 13/02/2007 14:22

that's exactly why you need the longline ones..... it has nowhere to be displced to!

yaddayah · 13/02/2007 14:26

my next ones were longline (ended just by my top rib) but whenever i so much as breathed it rolled down slightly meaning squashed bump of flesh and obvious VPL equivilent ... before you say it was too big it was a size 12 i'm a 10/12 and so tight i could only mildly exhale .. perhaps i shouldn;t be so cheap and invest in the hallowed spanx !

controlfreakyandroses · 13/02/2007 14:28

exactly! they are not cheap, but they WORK and you will get good value from them. the next / m and s ones are not cheap either, just cheaper.... and they dont work. they are crap value..... (must leave now before get too evangelical over a pair of pants....)
