Cutting your own fringe... Anyone done it?

My fringe needs a trim. It is a straight cut.

Tbh, I'm sick of having to go to the hairdressers every 6 weeks for this and want to learn how to do it myself.

Has anyone successfully done this? Or am I kidding myself?

I cut and colour my own hair.

Have cut it myself for years. Use a box colour on my roots every six weeks or so. Never had a disaster.

The idea that you can't cut your own hair or paint you own toenails, not looking at anyone in particular school gate mum is absolute bullshit.

Of course you can do it, and look fantastic. And save flipping loads of money. Get a big hair babyliss to blow dry.

Just learn from YouTube. It's not a N.Korean police state where there are only 10 hair styles, and there are people who'll arrest you for doing something for yourself. Grin

Go for it!

Yes, do what Earslaps said and it will be fine.

Firstly, cut it horizontally to shorten the fringe and with the tip of the scissors, do small, short vertical cuts along the bottom of the line

I do this.

If you've got a regular hairdresser most will often trim your fringe for free in between cuts if you don't fancy cutting it yourself.
