Has anyone done this?

I've got rather large do you think they'd manage that? What about the one you pay for with the colours and the style (125 but you get it back if you spend over 500). I rarely spend much on clothes but if they fitted and looked okay Im so short of clothes (got big :( ) that it could be okay. I guess the sting in the tail is spending 125 still even if you dont find clothes you like!

I know this can be a hard question to answer, OP, because the temptation is often to say 'just whatever fits', but what kind of clothes do you like? Tailored/drapey/casual? Dresses/trousers/tunics? What colours to you like? As a (fairly recent) bigger woman, I've realised it's really important (for me) to be discerning what what I will wear. No polyester monstrosities just because they cover me. I've recently invested in some sweater dresses, tunics, decent trousers and some cashmere jumpers, and while I don't have a mass of clothes, I do actually like myself in everything I have now. I'm a 22 on top with 36K boobs, and an 18-20 on the bottom. Most of my clothes just now are from Boden, Seasalt, Poetry. I've found the high street a non starter.

Would you consider getting your colours done at House of Colour then do their style day?

Knowing my colours has been revolutionary for me, esp when I went back to work after many years off, many stone heavier. At least I know my colours - takes at least a stone off 😀.
Would love to do style day but she said a few things about styles that would suit me on my colours day.
I did a couple of days hardcore shopping and trying on, and got a basic work wardrobe sorted. The trauma of changing rooms and mirrors was offset by the boost of finding stuff that fitted and suited.

And good bra, well fitted, obvs. And good pants. M&S do a light control range that suck me in but not so much that I'm in pain after lunch.

I had an appointment with the John Lewis personal shopper a few months back and she was absolutely brilliant. I used the free service.

Best way to shop. She runs about finding clothes which meant I could get a whole outfit in under an hour. I tried on - and bought - things I would never have looked at. She was really good.

I believe they ARE really good if the store stocks your size - but if not, it's a pretty dire, demoralising experience, where you come away feeling 'not even a personal shopper can dress me'. In my case, they didn't even sell bras with a big enough cup size.

Re the House of Colour thing, I don't know if other consultants do it, but I do an online shopping service for my clients once I've done their colours/style. I basically put together a Pinterest board of links to clothes in their colours/style, and they can order what they want. (I offer fancier versions where I deal with orders/returns too, but the Pinterest board is the bones of it). Probably no use to you as I'm in Devon, but there might be a consultant near you who could offer something similar. I like doing it online rather than IRL as I can find more clothes, especially for trickier styles/shapes/sizes than I can on the high street.

Nothing to add, but watching with interest
