Fed up with my curly hair

I have thick curly hair - not quite ringlets but almost. I'm so sick of it at the moment. I feel it always looks frizzy and ugly and doesn't really suit my personal style. I really want to find a quick-ish way to make it look less crazy! Any fellow curly girls have any tips to share?

Any salon round your way offer a Deva cut?

Snap! I'm going to watch this post as I'm in the same boat. Sooo fed up of my hair.
If I could grow it it'd help but I had it cut into a short bob and now I have to straighten it every bloody day!

You could put braids in your hair that's a pretty look.

If not after washing put in a hair moisturising cream it may help control it.

Google the curly girl method...it's done wonders for my curly hair. Basically you stop using shampoo and clean with silicone free conditioner. I use tresseme botanical conditioner and eco gel to style.

Coconut oil?
I use coconut oil + boot pink curl creme/ eco styler gel/ tigi curls rock. Mostly that stops the massive fluff ball thing (not yesterday and probably today , stupid fog Sad)

if you like your curls, fine.
if you don't, get a competent hairdresser to Wellastrate you. Lasts for a year. Goodbye fuzz and frizz, hello to using a comb and looking tidy.

Thanks for the tip about the curly girl method. Looks interesting. I need to do some more reading I think and work out what products to use.

So sorry you are fed up 🙁 It has taken a long time for my hair to behave. No sulphates, no cones, lots of moisture, protein and love have helped 🙂 I initially recommend lots of lovely treatments to get some needed moisture into the hair. Maybe a good trim might help too hairstylezz.com/best-short-wavy-hairstyles/5/.Hope it will help

OP, your hair sounds like mine - thick, curly, mostly in ringlets (when formed into ringlets before it dries).

What works best for me is to shampoo, comb through with my fingers with conditioner, rinse. Then towel-dry by squeezing, not tossing about your hair. Put in a creamy product (not gel and not serum) and twist your hair in parts to form ringlets.

This last part requires that you figure out which way your hair wants to form ringlets. Mine turn inwards towards my face on both sides, so do DD's.

Are you any where near Birmingham? Spring is a curly hairdresser and gets rave reviews. I haven't been yet, but I want to!

And yes to getting at least a shampoo and conditioner that has no nasties in-like the ever riche from L'Oréal.

There are some curly groups on FB to, might be worth a mooch?

There is a hairdresser in Birmingham, Matt James, who specialises in curly hair. He cuts it dry, as you can't tell what curly hair will be like when wet. He also gives advice on what products works on curly hair. I have wavy/curly hair and I have never come out of a hairdressers feeling good about my hair, except when I went to see him!

He also recommended not using shampoos with sulphates or conditioners with silicones. Curly hair is v dry so you need to avoid those chemicals. Some good products are Boots pink curl creme or Umbertto Gianni pink gel.

Yup, Matt is great. I got Hmm looks from friends for trekking from London for a haircut, but it was totally worth it.

I have similar hair (I think) and use Trepadora products in my hair. Pricey but they last and give great results.
