Help me find an outfit for a wedding: Thread no 1576378125631762351623517356

I'm going to a posh(ish) wedding at the end of next month and I haven't a clue what to wear, as I have about as much style sense as a beansprout.

Anyway, I'm a size 14 and ample of nork, arse and belly, so it needs to be flattering. It also needs to be breastfeeding friendly and up to a drive from Bath to Loughborough, as we'll have nowhere to change beforehand. Not too pricey either, we are on a budget!!!!

Also, no trouser suits. They look horrid on me (I'm fat and 5ft!)

Oh, and another thing, what shall I dress the DSs in? They are DS1 is 2 and DS2 will be nearly 7 months when we go.

Don;t want a lot do I?

ds2 in anything clean and without banana stains - you can get a little shirt-and-trosuser outfit if you eally want but I don't like them on tinies.

ds1 shirt with buttons and/or jumper, trousers other than jeans/ tracksuit bottoms but nothing fancier.

I think some combo of skirt, vest and cardi for you - have you good calves? can you wear heels? if so then flared or tulippy knee-ish length skirts can look v glam

IntergalacticWalrus · 10/02/2007 20:51

My calves are okish (in that they will do!) I don;t mind flared skirts. It's just finding a nice one that I can afford that's the problem!!!

have you colour preferences? will have a look (possibly tomorrow as am heading for bed soon)

IntergalacticWalrus · 10/02/2007 20:53

I live in darker colors due to having a big arse etc.

skirt & a wrap top? about to start my won 'help' on style as i'm useless at finding links, but could you trawl ebay for a good skirt & top?

hatwoman · 10/02/2007 21:01

I think you need a soft, slightly loose and swishy skirt and top - in the same fabric/colour - it has the dress like effect of not cutting you in two - nice and continuous, but the advantage of easy breastfeeding. I never mastered b-feeding in a vest - always ended up exposing saggy tummy. possibly all one colour - maybe with a fill or trim. I had a nice black outfit like this when I was b-feeding and had a wedding - can't find anything at the moment - will keep looking

hatwoman · 10/02/2007 21:03

that outfit I was talking about is about a 12 - you could borrow it if you like

hatwoman · 10/02/2007 21:12
