Winter wedding guest

Hi,
Please can you link me some ideas which you think would suit as a cover up/cardi/jacket for this Hobbs black and white maxi dress I'm thinking of wearing to a December wedding. I've only worn it once before but it was summer so I popped a light coral cardi over it but wouldn't go for a winter wedding.....I'd freeze! It's a size 16 and I've got chunky calves, thighs and arms so want to cover everything up!

Didnt want to buy another dress I'll heardly wear again so thought I could wear it and dress it up.
Not sure what colours go but was thinking maybe dark teal?

Also what shoes? I'm not good in heels.
Or feel free to give me totally different but not too pricey Ideas if I didn't wear the dress pictured.

I'm afraid I can't really picture that at a wedding. I can't see how you could dress it up and be warm. It might be to do with the pattern and possibly adding another colour.

However, I'm bumping for you and someone else may come along with more ideas.

I wonder if something like this would work? Or any another colour wrap cardigan - teal?

Try one of the fake fur bolero type coats primary usually have them at this time of year. Or debenhams.

I did wonder if it didn't look very wedding -like.
I d got thick calves so wanted to cover them up but maybe I could go for something below the knee with heels.
Bummer....thought I could get away without buying something new.

I'm sure you don't need to buy something new, especially if it's something you feel comfortable in.

I'm going to a winter wedding.
I always panic & choose incorrect outfits.
I have a floor length pleated chiffon sage green skirt, a cream silk cami and a tweed jacket with faux fur lapel...I'm now looking at shoes. I find the whole thing stressful and also wondering what to do with my hair!

I'm going for 'Country Winter Wedding' look. I may end up looking like a farmer.

pants I like the style of that jacket but the colour is too bright for me I think.
northumberland your outfit sounds nice. I wouldn't be so worried if it was a country wedding.....but it's a posh London restaurant wedding.with lots of posh London people.....of which im not one.

So I've just bought the floor length purple one.....it's only £32 so not forking out loads. It's from the company where my DD gets here ballroom dresses and the quality seems good considering the cost.

Winter weddings are tough. I'm at one tomorrow. All the stuff I have seen has looked like workwear or Xmas party dresses. I'm wearing a top that has 3/4 length sleeves and then will just wear a smart coat when we're outside which I don't reckon will be much.

There is a black sparky bolero in monsoon I might try.
