I wouldn't bother, I just wear what I like and what makes me happy! If I had to stick to a colour scheme I think I'd die of boredom!

I was once talking to a colour analyst who described it as 'taking all the thinking out of getting dressed'. She was trying to sell it to me but in fact it put me right off. That's because I like thinking about all that stuff and figuring it out. Even if I get it wrong sometimes, I don't really mind because I've enjoyed it. But if you don't enjoy it and you're looking for a short cut then it sounds like a good idea.

I agree with Floisme. I love clothes and I love thinking about what make up to wear with what I'm wearing too.

I hope that didn't sound like a put down by the way. Nothing wrong with short cuts!

Personally it hasn't taken all the thinking out if dressing but it's made it a lot easier and more fun actually. I now know exactly what to look for and what to avoid. It's an exciting challenge to find the right thing. I also don't make costly mistakes any more which has to be a good thing! I am also not afraid of colour whereas I just used to wear black or navy before which are really pretty dull!

I enjoyed it as a process. I liked a day concentrating on me feeling better about myself (am not a great one for spa days and other traditional 'me time' things.

I'm also reall not very visual and struggle with seeing what suits me or goes together so it was useful from that respect. I like the advice around how to wear stuff too. I am a spring so apparently suit high contrast. After some initial mistakes around this I've got that for me I can wear neutrals but dark and light together (so navy and ivory or dove grey for work for example).

Biggest advantage for me is that my clothes and shoes go together colour wise so I need less.

Still struggle with the lipstick though.

I'm another vote for getting it done. I find wearing the right colours makes cheaper clothes look better and it helps me put things together. I went with HOC and they also advised on hair colour which has really softened my look.

I say go for it. I'm planning on having mine done. I also love this quiz to work out your dress style : www.thechicfashionista.com/fashion-style-quiz.html. There is also info on colours and dressing to your body shape.

I personally think wearing clothes that suit your colouring, shape and knowing what your dress style is. Not only will you look and feel much better but you will save lots of money and closet space by avoiding the wrong impulse clothes.
