Umbrellas - boring but necessary!!

This is a plea from me and teenaged DD - is there a compact umbrella to be had out there that a) doesn't blow inside out or even break at the first gust of wind and b) doesn't cost more than it's worth (since whether it breaks or not it is bound to be lost/left behind somewhere sooner or later?) Any recommendations would be welcomed

Senz umbrellas. They're designed to weather storms. I've had mine for years and it withstands anything but hurricane force winds, when holding on to an umbrella is never a sensible strategy anyhow. Totally worth the investment imho.

Small caveat, the collapsible version is not as good as the original but still better than a standard umbrella.

I like fulton umbrellas as they have some good compact ones and are designed to be wind resistant although even they will break eventually. They can be a little bit more expensive than your average umbrella though - I'm not sure if strong is so compatible with cheap enough to be lost somewhere....

I've had surprise success with an H&m umbrella

Another vote for Fulton. I figure if they're good enough for the Queen then they're good enough for me.

I buy them from TK Maxx though.

Third vote for Fulton - I have the tiny size and it fits in my pocket/evening bag.

They are expensive but worth it for size/resilience.
