Anyone got a Longines watch?

It's my 50th coming up and id like a special watch. I like the look of Longines?
Anyone got one or a similar brand? What do you think?

I have a Longines Evidenza - this one. I've had it for about 6 years and love the style. My mother has a small gold Longines and is also impressed.
I've had one strap replacement and one service, but not by Longines, whose servicing is quite expensive. I went to a local jeweller, who ordered me an ostrich strap and fitted the Longines clasp to it.

I nearly got one for my 40th a few years ago. Wish I had. I chose a brown suede coat which cost almost as much and which I've hardly worn as I'm too nervous of spilling sth on it or ruining it. Silly really! That's reminded me, I'm going to get it out and wear it this Autumn. I loved the Longines watches. Classic and timeless - go for it.

I've had my Longines for 10 years. I really love it.

I've replaced the strap twice. It I do wear it every day.

I think they are classics too. The one I have my eye on is the mixed metals Le Grandue Classique, possibly with the tiny diamonds

I have a grande classique and I love it.

Battery has gone after about 6 years though - must get it replaced. I miss wearing it!

I have the same as chocolateteabag and I just wore if for 2 years. I do not like it but never gave me any problems, I still have it.

I've had my longines for 16 years, it was my 21st present. Absolutely love it and it still looks perfect despite wearing every day.

I have - it's a sport so not as pricey but looks really smart. Did cost £60 for battery replacement after 3 years but I did go to a specialist watch shop rather which was my own fault. Would definitely recommend.

Mine is getting on for 18 years old, and still going strong. No idea what the model name is but it's as wearable now as the day I bought it. Simple, and tells the time accurately;looks great.

DH and I have matching stainless steel Longines Evidenza watches, in the "tonneau" shape, to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary but bought on the day we found out I was expecting DD, so a double reason to love them.

From a practical point of view mine doesn't keep great time. I have to set it every morning and self-winding Longines are not famed for their accuracy. The glass is also a bit delicate as it's a much larger round piece that's ground down to fit the tonneau shape. I've actually broken mine 3 times in 12 years, but then I do wear it every day, even for rough jobs.

I have another Longines (battery powered) from our 20th, but that just sits in the drawer. I have no opinion on that one!

I have the prima luna and love it, it's nice and simple for every day wear. I've had it for 7 years and had it serviced once which was costly but the watch runs perfectly and always has

I have one. No idea what it's called but its like this one. Was a present from H and the kids, so I love it and wear it almost every day. It tends to lose a few mins a month, which I find irrationally annoying. It is also a bit expensive to get serviced but I've only had it services once and I have it about 8 years.

Worth it? Yes, for me. Absolutely.

I have had a dolce vita for 5 years and I love it. So classic and understated. I have only had to replace the battery once. I wear the watch everyday and am not particularly careful with it, but it looks like new.

I have a Longines Flagship in two tone with diamonds on the face.

I love how it looks but its timekeeping is abysmal. I'd steer away from their automatic watches & go for a battery powered one.

I've had my Dolcevita for 17 years and it's going strong. Changing batteries is a bit of a faff, but it's always done well.
My father's wind up one (at the time the thinnest watch in the world) works perfectly - and it was bought in 1964!

I have had the mixed metal Grande Classique for about 15 years and I still love it. It looks and feels really classy and classic, goes with any outfit. It has been serviced once in all that time and had the battery replaced about every 3 years.I wear it every day.
A bit of the gold has rubbed off but you can only tell if you look really closely. I make sure I keep the bracelet clean.
Go for it, I don't think you'll regret it. Longines aren't cheap but compared with other premium brands I think they are good value for a quality watch.
