If you could give me one simple tip, what would it be? I'm a frumptastic disaster zone and I'm only 27 <weeps>

Today I've booked to have my hair cut in a few weeks when I have money. Its currently long and frizzy and lifeless. I'm going to get A Product as well to make it all volumey.

I've accepted that I won't have the energy to lose the last stone I want to for a while and my clothes are ok - I just need to wear them and a bra instead of slobbing about all the time :(

My skin is dry and flaky so all makeup looks shit up close. My glasses, at least, are awesome.

If you could give me one simple tip to aid me on my way to fabulousness, what would it be?

I need to feel cool and sexy again, rather than this crappy tired lump! DS is ill and back to not sleeping so tiredness may have something to do with this breakdown...

  1. you look lovely
  1. really really don't do yourself down. Do stuff that you can find energy for that will make you look and feel good and then be nice to yourself.

you do look lovely!

have you tried a tangle teaser for ur hair? i cant brush mine with a normal brush now.

SuperFlyHigh · 06/10/2016 17:45

You don't need gradual tan.

bronzer looks nice.

Clarins do a fake tan you add to moisturiser or chanel teint de soleil is good.

eyebrows good but you can pluck where they've threaded after that for maintenance.

I have wavy hair and I don't brush it. Or at least I do when it's damp, but mostly I really condition my hair, using my fingers to comb it through. I then twist in to a low bun, let it dry and voila uniform waves! I think you do need to lose a few inches though and have them cut some shape around your face.

Don't fake tan. Your colouring is fine without. A little bit of highlighter or a tinted moisturiser, will give you a dewy complexion.

Oh OP, you are really pretty!

Here's my suggestions(from a haggard 39 year old!)

You don't need a spray tan, you have beautiful porcelain skin, embrace it!

Drink loads of water as others have said, it really does make you look better as it brightens and freshens your complexion (well, it certainly has mine)

Buy a body scrub (doesn't need to be expensive, I got a £3 one)and exfoliate while in shower, then lather on body lotion and relax on a towel on bed reading while it sinks in

Treat yourself to a pedicure or manicure if you have cash

Personally i don't like lots of jewellery,I only wear my wedding ring and stud earrings when I go out, if in doubt under accessorise rather than over...

Find your style, I live in converse and slim jeans, simple hair cut and clean make up free skin. Everyone will be different but I personally feel better for wearing less fuss, iykwim?
I use an olay spf30 day moisturiser in the red tube, get in half price at £15 to look after skin, at night I use the new boots perfect and protect super serum that the ballet dancer lady advertises and it is fab, get in when advantage points on offer or on 3 for 2

Happy50 · 07/10/2016 19:55

Oh - You are very pretty with lovely wavy hair.

Try the no poo method - it will keep the beachy waves and for many people really improve the condition
Instead of a cut how about a few up dos - u tubes have lots of tutorials

Littlebee76 · 07/10/2016 19:58

Spanx, luscious black mascara & a smile!

Likeaninjanow · 07/10/2016 20:06

You are so pretty - far from frumpy! My one tip to feel good about yourself would be...don't buy anything you don't love.

dublingirl48653 · 07/10/2016 20:40

You are lovely looking and I think that hair cut would look very funky on you and help your curls be more pronounced.
Then a bright lippy.

I am off to Google tightlining.

NeverNic · 07/10/2016 22:33

Should have said I do rinse the conditioner out! Also I don't like how I've phrased my hair advice to you. Sorry for being aggressive with my suggestions.

Blueisthemagicnumber · 08/10/2016 10:08

A semi permanent colour, very similar to your natural shade would give shine and gloss.

efeslight · 08/10/2016 10:28

Beautiful photo of you, you look lovely and friendly and happy.
Gorgeous thick hair, I think it might really suit the choppy cut you linked to.but then you'd lose the length and 'romance' of your current style.
Why not just start with a good cut to get rid of dry ends and tidy it up, and then think again in a few months.
I am also a glasses wearer with quite a small face and jaw. I think your glasses are maybe too big for your face, they take up too much of it. They also look a bit old fashioned to me...sorry
I struggled with glasses shape for years and now have one pair that i love that i keep having new lenses put in. They are a much smaller frame, with no actual frame on the bottom half- suits my petite face much more
Good luck!
