What can I do with my 3 year olds hair? I don't want to cut it really short:-(

I really like his hair (most of it) even though the picture doesn't look like it, it's thick and soft.

However there's a section at the back that just sticks up! It looks really odd.

Someone said just to give him a really short haircut shave it but I don't tank he'd suit it.

No matter how much intron to brush or wet it and blow dry it into shape it just springs back up again.

Is there anything I can do? Any ideas?

He's 3. Does it really matter if his hair sticks up?

I'd leave it. Or grow it a bit which would probably stop it sticking up too.

Is it a double crown?
I reckon if you let it grow an inch longer the weight of the hair will naturally pull it flatter

No normally I just let him get on with it and we don't fuss about his hair!

However we were wanting to get a picture of the children taken and I prefer it to look a bit neat!

Buy him a hat.

One of mine has crazy hair at that length - he's had it properly long before and it didn't stick up, and a bit shorter (not shaved but short) is tidy, but at a medium-short length it sticks up at the back and in one side!

You just have to either learn to love it, or go longer if you don't want to go shorter (but shorter doesn't have to mean clippers)

It looks like that's an existing cut growing out? Is that right or is it just the way the hair is growing? If you left (and continue to leave) the sticky-upy bit to grow a bit longer then it will be heavy enough to fall by itself. If you can't wait that long then maybe throw a bit of product at it if you don't want it sticking up for photos. I quite like it and would leave it doing it's own thing if it was my son but we are a naturally scruffy lot .

I cut DS' hair myself, sometimes it looks great, sometimes it is a little crooked. He is 5yo, i love looking at past photos.

That looks like how my son's hair behaves; I keep the crown a bit longer now having learnt to my cost that cutting it too short always makes it stick up! So another vote for letting it grow. Anything else will just prolong the annoyance.

I agree it looks like he has beautiful hair.
