Replacing a strap for an Hermes watch - is it going to bankrupt me?

I put my Hermes watch in the washing machine by accident. [sad} Watch is fine, but the strap, which was looking quite knackered anyway, isn't.

Has anyone done this? Is it vastly expensive? Could you even order a non-Hermes strap and get that put on??

If anyone has any knowledge, I would be very grateful!

I have an "H" model and changed the strap for a 'double tour' in etoupe 2 years ago. It cost 280 euros (I live in Barcelona).The good thing is that you choose the type of leather and color, it also took ages to get it.

How odd - my strap is a double tour in etoupe! That's not quite as scary a price as I thought it would be, thanks for the info.

If you are are London-based I would strongly recommend Jean Rousseau in Piccadilly arcade. They are specialists in watch straps and do leather ones in all colours and skins to fit all watches. They were recommended to me by jaeger lecoultre when I needed to replace strap of my reverso, think the one I got then cost around £100. Have replaced it again since for a tan alligator one with contrast white stitching, think it was about £180 but bespoke made to fit my wrist so only one hole (although with hindsight that means dh can no longer borrow it!)
