Box dye

Hello everyone!

It's a rare occasion I have a day to myself tomorrow and I want to take the opportunity to sort my hair out.

It's too late notice to book at my usual salon and as anywhere new worth visiting will require a 48 hour patch test I'm left with using a box dye.

I'm currently naturally dark brown having grown out previous dye and a recent lob but I was to go a light brown without any red tones.

Should I risk it or not?
If I do take the plunge, any recommendations???

You should still do a 48 hours allergy test with a box dye, Op.

Nice and easy 6a may do the job.

How dark, dark brown are you?

Faded, I know but I'm impatient. I've been dying my hair for years which again isn't an excuse but my hair falls out before my skin falls off

^^ And yes - you should definitely still do a patch test.

I'm Italian so pretty dark but my hair is sunkissed so has light tones through.

I recently tried to put a few subtle lighter tones through with a box ombré type kit which had very little effect.

I would use an ash blonde - ash to counteract red tones, and blonde as a box dye won't lift very much.

That's exactly what I went for secret and it's done exactly what I wanted it to :)
