Do you like fedora hats?

I personally love them but never had the confidence to wear them.
I live in the north east and I know 100% I would get some remarks or laughed at...
I dress pretty much like these pictures minus the hat.

I like the look but understand your reservations. Could you start by introducing a summer version on nice days and almost work upto the full look?

I really like them, and I bought one last year which I think looks good on me, but I'm the same as you - I can't quite pull it off confidence-wise!

Isitgin- I did and still didn't wear it,except for when I was in Venice -I wore it every day and loved it then as soon as the plane landed in Newcastle it never seen daylight again.

Shades- I bought a taupe/beige one as I'm dark haired and think it looks good but no confidence.

I tried mine out a couple of times when I thought I probably wouldn't see anyone I knew

Going to try again with it this winter. Maybe just wear it for the odd short trip to the shops and build up?

I was even thinking off putting mine in a bag then whipping it on when I got in the city rather my local neighbourhood

Those are not Fedoras (much slimmer brims) but Westons. Fedoras are a bit of an overplayed trend item and Westons are about to be, though it's a very minor trend so nothing to fret about especially if you like it.

I'm on the fence as hats look quite good on me but the reality is that they're hugely impractical - where do you put it while you're out and about and pray no one sits on it, argh wind, hair gets greasy much quicker, sweat head, limited vision, etc. - and you are always overdressed no matter what you wear with it, plus hat hair... ugh.

So while I own a few the reality is I only ever tend to wear a sun hat in the height of summer and a woollen one similar to a Weston when it snows and there's no wind. Not much to do with confidence really but more the practicality of it all. They're fun to switch things up with, treat them as such and don't spend ridiculous amounts on one. Zara Home (the decor shop) strangely enough always have a few nice ones each winter.
