Would you ever pay full price for one? I have bought in the sale before but still been Shock and definitely qualifies as pretty much the most expensive things I have ever bought in my life. The ones
I like the most are never reduced enough for me to justify it - can anyone give me a better argument?

Am going to go back into the shop tomorrow and dribble all over the 4-ply. Maybe if I dribble enough it will be spoiled goods and I'll get a discount.

Brora cashmere is definitely a cut above cheaper alternatives - thicker and softer, quite apart from ethical considerations. I have some (yes, always bought in the sale!) that's still going strong after ten years.
But Gordon Bennett, who on earth buys the other stuff they sell? Was flicking through a catalogue that came through the door the other day, and just didn't get it.

It does seem to have landed from Planet Weird. I think the oddness perhaps derives from ages of the models being well below the most likely target demographic. The styling doesn't help but I was in Harvey Nichols today and had a "wtf" moment at the mannequins followed by the same sensation when walking passed the window display.

I doubt I'll ever be able to afford it but I think it's worth the price for environmental issues alone. I read a bit about cheap cashmere and how overgrazing of land is turning stretches of Mongolia into desert and it put me right off buying and wearing it. Sorry if that sounds preachy - I love clothes and I really struggle with all this and no, I haven't even stuck to it myself 100% but I'm trying to. It's a luxury product for a very good reason.

Susan Pure Collection isn't reckoned to be in the same league for quality but I've bought some in the past and liked it (and they appear to have a good ethical approach as far as I can judge).

I like it and have paid full price
I also have paid for the kids collection. They wash well and last. The tops I buy for eldest, he wears constantly, then I pass down to youngest who does the same. Then pass on like new to nephews
