Sari wearers! Help a novice

Have a wedding to go to and part of it requires me to wear a sari (with the dressing help of some experienced sari-wearers).

I have bought one online which came with a blouse which is supposedly 40/42/44 but me and my DM have taken out all the extra stitching and it doesn't close over my massive boobs (I'm a size 16 and a G cup). Where can I get a green brocade blouse that fits me, or any ideas for altering the one that I have??? Also I have massive stretch marks and tummy and am anxious about that. I'd love to wear I though, it's beautiful.

I have similar struggles can you get to an Indian/Asian tailor? They may be able to add in extra fabric. Sometimes sari shops will sell the fabric To have another blouse tailor made (or may be able to point you in the direction of somewhere that does or in the direction of a tailor). You can drape the sari in different ways so your tummy isn't all on show. you will see women of all ages/sizes and they look lovely so don't worry, am sure you'll look lovely. Where abouts are you? There will be areas where there will be lots of shops/tailors - north London, Manchester, Leicester etc

Can you go back to the first place, and buy a bigger blouse??
Could you put a panel down the sides, since its already been unpicked?

Look online, there's loads of ways to wear a sari to cover your tummy, but tbh, no one cares or stares. As for the blouse, is there enough time to return and get a bigger size? If not, then find a local Asian seamstress and get it enlarged, try asking the people who's wedding you're going to, they might know someone

You could (carefully) cut down then back, then, making sure all buttons are closed, sew in matching or contrasting ribbon/trim, straight across or criss-cross across this cut. Add as much or little trim as you feel comfortable with, it will look very pretty!

Forgot to say, if sewing skills not good, use the iron on webbing - should hold if not straining too much!

Oh thanks! Maybe the back could be altered. Wedding is Saturday so was thinking maybe I could buy one the right colour online.

Just to say: I got busy with iron-on webbing and cut a strip from the sari end, hemmed with the iron-on, and spliced the strip into both sides of the blouse. It fitted and held for the evening so thanks!!
