Talk to me about comfy, hard wearing slippers

My Celtic & co ones I got last year are coming to the end of their life, the soles have worn down and are getting slippery on hard floors so I'm looking for some new mule type slippers (the ones without backs you can just slip on). We have hard floors in the majority of our house so hard wearing/non slip soles are important, and nice and fluffy and warm inside!

I have fluffy crocs. The ones with washable fluffy liners. Go inside and out and chuck in washing machine. They are great.

I've been using the same 2 pairs from sainsburys in rotation for 3 years. Pop them in the washing machine every couple of months.

WaitrosePigeon · 17/08/2016 21:33

Oh you must get Ugg. They are so good.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Birkenstocks yet?!
Buy a proper leather pair (none of this Birkoflor shite) and they will last for years.

I love this thread title. It makes me feel like all is well with the world.

Another vote for the Costco Kirkland slippers. I had foot surgery this year and they were a lifesaver.

I will never buy Just Sheepskin slippers again. For the price of them I wasn't happy with the quality. My first pair fell apart after 3 months, JS replaced them and the replacements then started to come apart at the seam after about 6 months. I wore them a lot but only indoors. A cheapy fake pair from M&S lasted over a year.
I would love to find a good well-made pair of sheepskin slippers as they are great for winter.

I've dithered over Celtic and co slippers over the last few years, but on a whim bought black memory foam slippers from primark for £4.
My brother in law on the other hand got Celtic and co and they were trashed after a year or two on the other hand mine primark ones look new.
I've heard people justifying expensive buys saying that they last longer, but think mine will last as long and at about the cost of £1 per year instead of £15 per year.
Plus always buy dark slippers, I wear mine when cooking and oil spills are not your friend if you have light coloured slippers.

Btw I do have Celtic and co boots which have faired a lot better, and will probably buy again (but in black!).

I forgot to say my primark ones were mule style. They may have similar in this year. I kicked myself for not hording a few pairs!

I have mahabi's (summer) for Spring summer months and Just Sheepskin boot type slipper for winter. My JS ones seem very hard wearing so far and fingers crossed they wear well this winter too. I put slippers on the second I get in, loathe having cold feet.

Another vote for Moshulu, I too am just starting with my third pair in about 10 years, the soles are indestructible, they go in the washing machine and are so snuggly. My toes eventually go through them too, but it takes several years.

ConstantCraving · 18/08/2016 21:51

Glerups - best slippers ever. I have these purple ones: Glerups before that I had them in bright pink, last for years and super comfy.

ConstantCraving · 18/08/2016 21:54

hmm link went wrong. They also sell them here: Glerups

caffelatte100 · 18/08/2016 22:03

Moshulu for me too. I am on my second pair. Some of them don't even look like slippers but little ballet pumps and have nice embellishments. I like them to come all the way round the back (like a shoe) as I worry about tripping down the stairs in those open backed ones.
