What will sort my cracked heels out?

Really suffering. They're not very noticeable at all but fuck me they hurt Confused

Googling of previous MN threads on this suggests Flexitol. Before I make a dash to Boots tomorrow, did this work for you or are there any other cures? I've been buffing away dead skin.

Thanks.

Flexitol or CCS are both great.

Look on Amazon - much cheaper than in Boots

The Veet is interesting - reminds me of the actin of some lotion i used to purchase from QVC years ago - apply onto wodges of cotton wool and after 10 minutes scrape off the skin which had dissolved into a gunky mess.

I miss that stuff!

Just a quick tip - if you have one of those electric sander devices, the key is to use rechargeable batteries, take them out of the machine between uses and make sure you're always using 100% fully powered ones. That way it has the oomph to do the job - if you use normal batteries you'll only get a couple of uses out of them before they start to lose their kick.

Also when the problem has got better, get some really nice foot cream with shea butter in it, like L'Occitane, and put it on at night. Coating my feet with Vaseline at night (and sleeping in old socks) does wonders as well. I've always got my feet out at yoga class so try to make sure they look reasonable.

Flexitol is amazing! It's also good for keratosis pilaris too. A must have in my beauty stash!

It's £7.49 in superdrug at the moment for a 112g tube.

Newtons chiropody sponges really do work and aren't harsh.
They also work on bobby arms

Those saying Footner...I've just done that and I think that might actually be one of the causes of the cracks Confused

Just marking my spot. Intrigued by Veet 😊
I find flexitol really greasy, I leave a trail behind me on the tiles !

StealthPolarBear · 05/08/2016 22:07

Newtons chiropody sponges. Seriously.

When my heels get really dry, I try to exfoliate each day after a shower (any old foot file will do) and apply moisturiser - which I find works best if I wear cotton socks and then trainers or shoes that will make your feet a bit warm (not always fun in the summer!). My heels don't crack but they do get really dry and my habit of wearing mules or flipflop type shoes around the house doesn't help apparently Blush

Even the supercheap foot files (Tesco value) work well but I've got another fairly cheap one from Asda which combines a metal file, pumice, emery-type bit and a brush.

I have Flexitol'd tonight. Will report back.
