Crocs. Hate, hate, hate , HATE them!

I was out with my dogs and met a lady with a lovely pair of short yellow wellie type boots. I loved them but my face fell when she said they were crocs!

I had to havthouem though, they look so fab! My many wellies are tall and we have had lots of rain in Wales but I wanted something short and more summery so these for the bill perfectly and they are cute and quirky!

I bought a size up as I have wide feet and they fit perfectly! Comfortable too!

So, I have had to eat my words!

What about you? Have you ever done similar?

PacificDogwod · 03/08/2016 20:19

I am still saying "never ever' wrt playsuits - how on earth do you pee?? Confused

Also said I'd never wear a bra with an underwire - well, lets just say, I've change my tune as gravity has had a chance to work on me BiscuitBiscuit

MrsJayy · 03/08/2016 20:25

My much younger sister wears playsuits and jumpsuits out to the pub but after a few sherrys how does she pee must be strip to the waist Hmm sounds a faff

fluffiphlox · 03/08/2016 20:26

I was always dead against Crocs too but I now have a pair for the garden. I don't think I've been round the front of the house with them on though. They really do have to be the least stylish footwear going. I dislike Uggs too and haven't succumbed yet.

JohnCheese · 03/08/2016 20:30

Like lots on here, skinny jeans. As a (slim-ish) never ever was I going there. Hah! Famous last words. Agree with Flo tho, I suspect we just don't notice they don't suit us.

Those cropped jeans. Yip. Got them too. Like 'em a lot. This month. Next month I may be mortified I ever considered them.

Trainers as everyday shoes.
Playsuits, wore one on hols.

MrsJayy · 03/08/2016 20:32

I would NEVER bring my crocs home and wear them but gawd they are comfortable

peaceloveandtwirlywoos · 03/08/2016 20:33

Leggings. When they came back into fashion about 10-15 years ago I said, surely not! No one will ever wear leggings again, surely?! Then came the ski-pants.

Appleand · 03/08/2016 20:37

Skinny jeans and high waist trousers. tbh, I only wear skinny jeans because I can't find any other ones in charity shops. Tried high waisted trousers couple of weeks ago and omg I am not going back, you can't make me, they're bloody amazing. like a comfortable corset.

CPtart · 03/08/2016 20:47

A onesie!

JackandDiane · 03/08/2016 20:54

leggins? are they like leggings?

meridithssister · 03/08/2016 20:58

Birkenstocks
Comfy pants

NoCapes · 03/08/2016 21:00

Jeggings
Mocked my mum for ages until she made me try a pair on, now I live in them

pointlessperson · 03/08/2016 21:03

A fleece...my gran gave me one when I was pregnant and I practically live in it now

AnneGables · 03/08/2016 21:05

Practical coats, until ds started school and realised how impractical umbrellas are in a busy playground, I now have waterproof with hoods in a winter and summer version.

MrsJayy · 03/08/2016 21:10

Saw a younger trendy mum today trying to negotiate the pram and brolly i thought give her a year and she will be in the tresspass jacket like everybody else Grin

twoduvetsandablankie · 03/08/2016 21:25

Thanks op, I've just bought the croc boots in red for £10.50 on Amazon! Bargain and hopefully they'll be my summer dog walking boots :)

ladydepp · 03/08/2016 21:31

Skinny jeans - now I wear little else
Poncho (knit) - how I laughed when I saw a friend in one, love mine now
Birkies - I have several pairs
Wellies - how did I live without them?
Harem pants - my favourite lounge pants
White trainers - I have 2 pairs now

The list goes on...Grin

BobbinThreadbare123 · 03/08/2016 21:32

Waterproof coats. I always wore leather jackets and edgy suede things. I actually despise umbrellas though.

I now have five posh waterproof coats of varying seasonal weights and lengths. Blush

FashionLover1 · 04/08/2016 16:28

Adidas Trainers. Always said no. Now they are in my shoes coellection :)

Greenteandchives · 04/08/2016 16:43

A great big fuck off hat with feathers in when ds1 got married. I am not very tall, so always thought I would look ridiculous on a hat. Maybe I did, but I felt amazing! No one could stand very close to me in the photos. Grin

Greenteandchives · 04/08/2016 16:44

*in a hat.

EmmaWoodlouse · 04/08/2016 21:58

I can't wear the "classic" shape of Crocs - I have had plantar fasciitis and they were the one thing that reliably set off the pain within about 5 minutes, long after it stopped happening in anything else. I think they are basically too wide for me and make my feet tilt in an uncomfortable way. So I always thought I would never wear Crocs even though I kind of like the idea of them in theory. But it turns out I can wear several of their other styles - ballet pump type shoes, that sort of thing.

I bought a jumpsuit recently when I was almost 50. Have owned a couple before but always thought they didn't look right on me somehow and they ended up in the charity bag. This one's a really nice shape and I feel very classy in it. It's true though - make sure you leave plenty of time to pee before you get desperate, especially if you've had a few. And don't wear it if you're going clothes shopping, too much of a faff for trying things on.

Spudlet · 04/08/2016 22:00

Dungarees. I lurve them. I'm not even ashamed...

EndofSummerLooming · 04/08/2016 22:08

Very sensible shoes. Hotter, Rieker, but then I got plantar fasciitis, broke a foot, .....do I care. Van Dal is for special occasions Sad. Life moves on.

Outcomesthebunnyofdeath · 05/08/2016 09:07

Skinny jeans for me too.

Crocs, which are for kids only. Until I saw those yellow boots in the OP......
