What is your holy grail hair product?

As in 'discontinue this product and your dog gets it'.

Mine is Batiste. Not very exciting but I've got really straight hair and spraying some on freshly washed hair gives it a bit of body and a bit of grip. Not to mention keeps grease at bay.

I dream of finding a product that will give me loads of volume at the roots but any product I've tried just leaves my hair a bit dry and crispy.

What hair product do you clasp you bosom at the thought of it disappearing from the shelves?

Boucleme Curl Defining Gel. Tried MILLIONS of other curly and non curly products and nothing has ever worked as well to define curls well in my fine curly hair.

WombattingFree · 20/08/2017 10:15

Olaplex and Uniq1 (the coconut one). Both these saved my hair when travelling.

I also would add, although it's more homeware, I bought a filter for my shower. Which is giving my hair a much needed boost from London's hard waters!

Beketaten · 20/08/2017 12:26

John Frieda Go Blonder shampoo, gives me great colour when used regularly, it is a bit drying though.

Argan oil, but no one can discontinue that as it's a natural product!

dudsville · 20/08/2017 12:52

Kiehls shampoo and conditioner from their "dry and damaged" range. They have a nice olive one and a nice oil one. They turn my bra strap length wavy and thick hair from straw to shiny malleable waves.

Eve Lom cleanser. I've tried other things but been back with this over the last year or so. Stops my skin from feeling cracked and stretched and flaky.

Kiehl's ultra facial deep moisture balm. Ditto.

Kiehl's ultimate strength hand salve. Ditto.

Nivea blue tub. Ditto but for legs and feet!

Basically I'm dry as a bone without these things!

I bulk buy Arm & Hammer toothpaste from the states. It has peroxide.

I use coco chanel. I try other things from time to time but this I consider a basic daily toiletry.

Olaplex 3 for home use

Philip Kingley Elasticiser

Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Omega Repair BB Beauty Balm - I use this all the time on wet and dry hair. I love it, it is light, non greasy and smells gorgeous

waitingforgodot · 20/08/2017 13:40

What is olaplex? I've not heard of it. My hair is particularly straw like at the minute. Wonder if this would work?

PookieSnackenberger · 20/08/2017 15:28

Waiting - it's great. I alters the bonds in your hair to strengthen it. You can have it done in a salon on its own or if you have your hair coloured. You can also use it at home to deep treat your hair.

Lots of reviews online and YouTube about how to use it.

waitingforgodot · 20/08/2017 17:06

Thanks pooky! Will try this

TashieWoo · 20/08/2017 17:23

@Burnished that root booster is also my holy grail! Love it and will not bother trying anything else on my fine hair.

usersos · 20/08/2017 18:21

Milkshake whipped cream leave in conditioning mousse
Can't brush my hair without it after I wash my hair! X

EraArils · 20/08/2017 18:38

I love Milkshake whipped cream leave in conditioning mousse and Milkshake silver shine shampoo. This silver shampoo is the best purple shampoo i've used and I've tried them all.

Love Olaplex 3 as a deep conditioner but my favourite product is Joico K-Pak therapy restorative styling oil. My hair is grey/white/silver with bleached ends so very coarse and needs a lot of help.

McDougal · 20/08/2017 18:47

Could anyone advise how you use the John Frieda root booster? It just made my hair crispy Confused

Jivebunny89 · 20/08/2017 18:49

Olive Oil hair mousse.

I have spent 27 years looking for a good hair mousse. And find one that suits my hair in Tesco of all places. I think it's mostly marketed at people with afro hair. My hair has bigger curls than that, but can't fault it.

Buddy14 · 20/08/2017 18:54

Madison - if I buy step 1 Olaplax (the salon one) how is it to be used at home as supposed to the salon? I have step 2

I'm really loving L'Oréal Low Shampoo - it's like a cream conditioner that doesn't later but gets hair really clean without the flyaway look.

TashieWoo · 20/08/2017 19:33

@McDougal spray on damp hair about 15cm from the hair, on roots only, then blow dry. I put all around my hairline, down the parting then lift up a section halfway down and put some there too. You only need one spray per area. Maybe you've been using too much or your hair hasn't been damp enough to start with?

McDougal · 20/08/2017 19:37

Thanks Tashie. Probably a combo of not damp enough hair and too much product. I'll give a try again tomorrow!

plank · 20/08/2017 19:46

Moroccan oil, the official one. I can't quite put my finger on what exactly it changes but it just makes everything look so much better

queenofthebucket · 20/08/2017 20:01

Twisted Sista curl cream from Superdrug - gives my tight curly hair lovely definition and no frizz.

sulee · 21/08/2017 19:09

Olaplex and living proof thickening cream. Both ££ but save me money in the long run as I have wasted so much money trying new products over the years. These two have transformed my thin, aging locks into the hair I have always wanted!
