Where can I get sandals like the ones you get at a Spanish market

For the past 5 years we have been on our summer holiday to Spain. I love the markets - the thin linen dresses and gorgeous sandals. All cheap!

We are not going this year so I was wondering if I can get the same things online anywhere? Or do I have to trawl through ebay at Chinese sellers? I thought the shoes / dresses were Italian or Spanish (according to labels).

Any ideas gratefully received!

I got avarcas too :D

WellTidy · 22/07/2016 21:40

Are the soles in the avarcas comfortable and padded please? I'm a martyr to my feet due to bunions and I need a padded sole. They look so nice.

polyhymnia · 22/07/2016 22:34

They both look really nice. My only concern would be whether the soles are thick enough for lots of walking.

People find they are, presumably as so many say they're comfortable?

polyhymnia · 22/07/2016 22:35

Cross post with well asking same question!

xesc · 23/07/2016 10:24

Go with www.avarcas.com, cheap, comfy and original. Pay more than 40€ for an avarca is nosense. You buy them in menorca for 25/30€. They offer free shipping to UK.

Thanks for the TK Maxx tip, they have some in the clearance section. Going to give them a try.

Are the soles reasonably thick?

woahthehokeycokey · 24/07/2016 12:37

I've been buying palmairas for the last couple of years now, and although they're expensive they are so comfy and handmade leather.
The soles are thick enough to walk around in all day and even though I have wide ish feet palmairas stretch to a perfect fit as they are leather. My DD has 2 pairs (one pair are a hand me down) and have been going strong for months!

Pacific - forgot about this thread, sorry Blush

Those teal coloured ones are lovely. Which did you buy?

By the time I had finally come off the fence and decided to put my money where my mouth was, they were out of stock Sad

I've now decided I'll save my pennies and buy a pair or three when I am next in Spain/Mallorca Grin

JinkxMonsoon · 26/07/2016 22:07

My TK Maxx Avarcas arrived today and I'm really impressed. They felt a bit stiff and I thought they'd run my feet, but as soon as they warmed up on my feet they felt really supple and comfortable. And I thought that maybe they'd slip off my heels (I really struggle with things like ballet flats) but they were great, and I walked around a zoo all day in them. I especially like the way they're just barely open toe. Good for ventilation, but toes mostly covered. Thumbs up!

palmeiros are basically avarcas... but more expensive...

freemummy · 27/07/2016 10:52

I recently bought a avarcas and I am delighted with them. The've purchased online directly in Spain and got it for the same price as on the island of Menorca. The quality is incredible.

selenayoung · 27/07/2016 10:56

take a look: www.avarcas.com/collections/women good prices and free shipping

Have reported this as just so many brand new posters promoting avarcas.

JinkxMonsoon · 27/07/2016 11:27

Good lord, you actually have the time to run searches on all the usernames in this thread? All to expose potential "advertising" for an obscure Spanish sandal brand?

MrsCampbellBlack · 27/07/2016 11:28

Obviously not all of the names but come on - the last few posts totally read like advertising and if they are then they should pay.

Oh and it took me approximately 1 minute Smile

marmiteloversunite · 27/07/2016 11:50

I don't work for sea salt. Smile

MrsCampbellBlack · 27/07/2016 11:52

Honestly, it was just the last few posts that seemed so obviously advertising Smile

I got about 5 people to buy a jigsaw kaftan a couple of days ago on here but don't work for them. But then I have posted on here for about a billion years Wink
